Audio Accessories

What products/priceranges are people going to be using with their RedOne in terms of Audio Accessories?

I presume eng/efp's will be using shot gun mic's and boom mic's and motion picture productions will be wanting to use more advanced setups. I'm just wandering what people consider to be feasable Indie setups for audio and for comparison high end setups as well, for different genres.

Aren't you using the built in mic? :D

I would imagine some or many of the indie folks are stretching to get the camera and will use whatever accessories they have already. I will be using some Shure SM 58s, a Shure lapel, an Octava MK-012 and an AT 4073a. Good old indie standbys for the most part (on the last two, anyway).

I, for one, will be growing into the camera. (And I forsee a looooong adolescence.)

Isn't the built in mic only quadrophonic? ENG's in the future will want 7.1. And why use 7 mono shotgun's when you can use the Holophone?

there are more suitable options for surround that doesn't require an additional recorder. This mic generates a 4 channel signal that can be processed in post to generate 5.1 or 7.1 audio signals. Unofrtunately it's really new and there isnt enough info on it yet. I asked on another thread if anyone knew anything about it but didn't get an answer.

Soundfield also produces more expensive mics that also generate a 4channel signal, but those wouldn't be so easy to use in a ENG type shoot as they use an additional device to process the mic feed. These type of mikes would need a sound bay to be recorded properly, I think.
