Yes I'm afraid I have another adaptor.

Over at DVinfo they have done the scotch tape about 6months ago. Then they found out what kind of material it was...something like POC 3. They had bad results with bokeh rendering.

maybe its my vibrating design and scotch tape that gives it a good look then.. im getting great results.

First off, thanks to all of you guys, Ed especially for starting this thread. I've been combing through it and I've finally started to build my own adapter with some modifications. Right now I'm waiting for my lens mount to arrive and then I'll be able to take some test footage to see how this puppy works.

I recently got a Vivitar 70-150mm 1:3.8 Close Focusing Lens on ebay... does anyone have any experience with this type of lens?

You should also get a fast 50mm. They should be cheap.

I've got one on order from ebay, but it seemes its on the slowboat from china and taking forever to arrive.

So far I've got a canon 28mm 1:3.5 and a Vivitar 70-150mm Close Focus that i got for cheap. Hopefully they're the right ones and will work excellently.

I alos ordered some 58mm spacer rings andone i get a successful test of the ED35 I'll be trying to adapt the design just a wee bit so that no gluing is needed...Hope i get good results without too much vignettng... adding on a +7 macro as well

Need to ask basic question

Need to ask basic question

Sorry for the very basic question, but I can't seem to research out the answer.

Do these 35mm adaptors such as these described in this DIY thread work for the HVX200?

Thanks,

Theoretically, yes. But many of the designs don't have a fine enough groundglass/diffuser to eliminate the grain that shows up when recording in HD.

All of them will work as long as you have a 82mm to 72mm step-down ring to attach to the HVX200, but the real question is will they work well? If the ground glass is static the HVX will pick up all the dust and scratches on the ground glass, so the ground glass needs to vibrate or spin in order to eliminate those things.

It is for this reason I have ceased my pursuit of building my own 35mm adapter. I have a DVX100A, but will want to move up to the HVX200. All the time and energy to make a great static adatper for the DVX will be useless once I move up.

So I have just purchased the Letus35 Flip Enhanced, which flips the image, has a vibrating ground glass, works with the HVX, and only costs $700. I'm excited to get it so I can stop building and start filming.

Just a question

Just a question

Ed : at one time you talked about getting a website together in order to consolidate all of this tremendous information. What's the status on that?

Snodart: How's the DVD coming along? I am ready to pay up!!

Thank you both for everything!!!!

I concur on both accounts. Don't confuse our patience for a lack of interest. I for one am wating with baited breath for snods DVD and Eds updated site, but I know how busy each of those guys are...

Got my Nikon GG, and I'm waiting on a canon 50mm f/1.4 from ebay.
Once I get my FD mount, comes the task of figuring out the minimal focusing distance of the original DVX100.

vidwerk.
