There has been a book/DVD set for the DVX out for some time now. It was the original. It's really great.

Yep, got it with the camera --- would have been lost if I had to rely on the owners manual alone. I'm guessing a Bootcamp DVD for the DVX would go into more detail beyond the book as the DVX Bootcamp itself probably does. Besides, visual demonstrations always add meaning to whatever is being stated.
If anyone knows of such a project in the wind, would like to know. I think there would be some definite interest out here.

HVX BootCamp DVD Vol. 1

Just ordered mine. Very excited. I have been waiting for a tutorial like this. I am a musician/producer and getting into producing music videos. Just bought my HVX200. I am 100% sure that this DVD will be tremendous help in learning the camera. Thank you.

I just got my set today. Funny thing I came across is that both DVDs are listed as HVX DVD Disc 2 on my computer, while they both distinguishing printing as "Disc 1" and "Disc 2." Since the on-screen menus doesn't state so, which one is techincially "Disc 1?"

The disc printed as Disc 1 is Disc 1. But it doesn't matter. Watch it in any order you want -- that's what the set is designed for.

hey unfiltered, when did you order it? i'm still waiting for mine and the tracking/receipt number is not registering.
USPS' tracking system did the same for me, but there it was when I came home from work. I ordered it 10/16 (Monday), it shipped on 10/17(Tuesday) and I got it here is L.A. yesterday (Thursday). I guess it depends on how efficient your USPS carrier is, as WBS had shipped the DVDs next business day after my order was placed.

By the way, the discs are fantastic! The DVDs are a visual repesentation of Barry's book and then some, making the marriage of the book and DVDs a perfect match. The Volume 2 set will complete the trifecta. (Unless Barry and Co. have more planned for us. :))

EDIT: I should mention that when I ordered it on 10/16, it was "after hours" for the East Coast. That really shows how on the ball WBS is!

Glad you liked it! The way we look at it is, yes, it's designed to complement the book, give some examples that can only be given in the video realm, show some side-by-sides, plus some people learn better by reading, some learn better by watching and going through the interactive steps.

Volume II is a bit ambitious; one reason we haven't committed to a delivery date is because we keep adding things we want to see it cover. The other reason is: things keep changing! Serious Magic gets bought by Adobe, FireStore announces their version 3.0 software, Apple totally overhauls FCP with version 5.1.2... so just when we think we know what to put on there, the fast-paced technology world throws a bit of a monkey wrench into things! :)

As far as shipping, it is our aim to always ship orders within 24 hours, and we aim for same-day whenever possible.

man that was quick. i ordered it on wednesday or thursday and it was in my mailbox on saturday. i've popped it in and from what i seen so far this is EXACTLY what i needed i can already tell. i learn a lot faster and better when its visually. i like how they demonstrate just about everything they are talking about.....i think i've learned more in 30 mins than i have in the past few weeks since i bought the HVX!

good job guys! definately let us know if there is another volume releasing soon. i'd love to sign up for a email newsletter or something to keep up with any new releases.

:)

I ordered mine on 10/18 and received it on 10/23...that was fast. The DVD is awesome...to the point...superbly done...worth every penny.
Just watching 5 minutes of it has answered many questions I had. Thank you Barry and the team.

Poor chicken, got run over by that big ol' cart...

The saying actually is, don't put the cart before the horse. The chicken is the one that crossed the road cause there was no traffic, due to the dude who didn't know how to hitch the horse to the cart.

Something like that...

I'm in the uk and received a tracking email to say that the package left the US on the 19th. Since then nothing.

I hope that my chicken didn't get squashed on its journey. Or something.
