1080p 7.1" lcd monitor for red

Yikes.. you do realise that the DPI on that thing is actually denser than print resoloution (300dpi). You probably hold a loupe to the screen and inspect detail! I cant imagine that as Ive never seen that high res on a such a small space before.

now try a 600dpi viewfinder

a) Dont forget that for offset printing is 300dpi picture riped to 150-175 lpi raster so its quite different

b) Its old story: back in year 2000 IBM produced the T220 LCD monitor (3840x2400) with 200 PPI and more than 9 million pixels in total on its 22.2-inch screen!!!

they just developed ultra hd lcds that blow away that ibm too but none are portable and they require ac power. at least a 7.1" 1080p lcd can actually be used in portable way for framing, color and focusing.

a Viewsonic version of the same LCD panel was used at IBC to show nearly 4K footage in the Red booth to show Redcode...cursor was TINY...half the size, literally and exactly, of what you'd get on an Apple 23". Acutally a bit smaller since a 22" panel not 23"
