This scheduling will happen only if the camera will deliver. If not, it'll be used the rental offer (F900) like it'll happen next January. (sorry, I'm not introduce myself... I'm one of filmmaker's partners.)Jim Arthurs said:Then all the more reason to keep the development tight and spend less time having to explain and defend the parameters of in-house testing to a group of folks, don't you agree? If you are a reservation holder, I think you've seen enough from the RED team to have the necessary faith. Let them do the work they need to do, and report back when ready.
Also, is it wise to schedule a project around a camera that is not on the market, or has no firm release date scheduled? Imagine if you took Panasonic's projected time-frame from this time last year on the release of the HVX and booked your shoot in January based on that...
what do you want to mean?.. it's 1k but coming from a sensor of 11 megapixels or not?Proteus said:I liked the "bubble girl" eventhough it was only 0.5 vs 11 megapixels of the RED camera.

I count myself squarely as a supporter of RED and what it represents to the greater film movement - I hope to be the first production house in Charlotte with comprehensive RED packages.
As someone who shoots professionally for broadcast, I view cameras as nothing more than tools. I'm pragmatic and analytical about them. Anyone who has worked with me knows this is so, even when I talk about the HVX200. I'm as agnostic as they come.
I can't comment on any other post, but I will say that all I asked for was something different in the next batch of images.
If that was taken as an attack on the larger movement or the camera itself, then it was taken wildly out of context. I'm sorry if it was.
Anyway, perhaps we might see some Texas footage in the near future and we can all be happy again.

Every [publicized] image from a device that is near market should be no less than perfect. Characterization of the imager? Come on. Let's not pretend that the MacBeth Color Checker chart wasn't out front of Mysterium two weeks ago and that it didn't look balls-on.
I've asked for the parameters of the test footage to expand, nothing more, nothing less.

I did a colorgrading for some usual filmlike effects... 1 warm and 1 cold.
Did it under 1 minute so it's not perfect, but shows how the material can look when it's not directly from the RED. It's not showing the sharpness, just the colors.
