Action-gangster- Trailer - "Binary City"

Amazing.....Looks like a big budget movie....

1)What settings did you use on DVX 100?

2)What did you edit it on?

3) Did you get the look in post production or what is something that was with DP work?

4) How long did it take you to finish the film?

im totally new to this site...a friend of mine told me about it. so what actually goes on here? how do i catch up? and who needs actors? i know this isnt related to the conversation but im lost...?

1) 24fps Advanced Pulldown, Cinegamma
2) Final cut pro 5
3) The lighting schemes we both came up with, but we also darkened the blacks in post. If you can, boost the master pedestal in the camera so that you don't have to in post. we had alot of unwanted color noise after color correcting.
4) We shot most of the film over a summer, but we all started school again. So it was every other weekend when we all could sync up (the hair length of the actors' changes if you take notice) and post took a few months. Overall, it was an intermittent year.

Hey emptytea, that is really impressive work. When/how/where can we see the completed film?

One of the many reasons the trailer feels so polished and the acting is so believable is that you have very good sound quality. Would you mind describing what kind of dialog recording setup you used?

I absolutely wanna take my hats off to you! This was awesome! By far, this needs to be a feature film. The acting was superb, action was good, the acting was good - did I say that already? Yes, I'm a huge fan of the DVX and indie films, but I'm a huge acting critic - like most people these days. You've balanced everything perfect. The only comment would be is to make sure that the fire coming out of the guns (I'm assuming it was added in post) to make sure it matches the guns' barrels. The fire flares from the handguns do not match the positions of the guns barrels. That was the only part, but everything else was really entertaining.

Where did you shoot it? I loved the city shot at the end of the trailer.

Cheers,

Tom
