1k Bubble Girl video up

Lovin' the torrent!

71 peers. Nooot bad at all. Only 1 seeder currently, but that will change soon. If this many people use the torrents it will be a great way to distribute these huge files.

You rock Jim!

I'm new to bittorrent, but if I keep the App open after I'm done downloading will I be able to continue to let others download from me?

on a completely unrelated matter, I compressed the Juliet video down to 33MB from 105MB when using the h.264 codec (and it looked identical), would this compression not be a good solution for downloading off of the red.com site to help save on bandwidth?

30.5% here. When it finishes, I'll upload it to some free hosting sites. Faster and easier than a torrent.

The greenscreen still is uploading now. I was being a bit defensive. I know we will get trashed for the uneven, overexposed screen. :-)

Jim

From some workprints I've seen, the screen isn't always light evenly. While those who haven't seen pictures or video, think otherwise and the fanboy posts come.

I agree, Ive seen horrendously lit screens which turn out just fine. Ultimatte is pretty good at handling that sort of stuff.

Checkout some of the sample bluescreen images from ultimatte.com and then decide what a badly lit keying screen really is.

I don't heart torrents but I do heart RED.

[can't download torrents]
[waits for mirror]
[will mirror again, pending bandwidth]

ulitmatte does kick ass.. and torrents should work alot better in a couple days when red sets up its dedicated torrent server.

Goddamn!

Goddamn!

It's still strangely "video-like" but the sharpness is friggin insane and the latitude is NICE. I guess I understand now about the comments of it just being it's own thing. It's not like film or like HD.

This blows the Juliet clip away.

I think any piece of footage which hasnt been graded colour corrected and treated could look "video like". I've seen raw footage off 35mm which looks almost HD video like. The fact that the background is flat, also doesnt add any Bokeh or other film like qualities related to depth.

I think the key here is that RED users will have the power to choose what their art will look like. They can grade and treat it to resemble film, video, HD, whatever. You got 4k of data to play with.

I'll suspend preliminary judgement till I see the final test shots after ive CC'd and graded them. Having said that, can we get an upload mirror somewhere :D???
