Error Message when importing P2 in fcp 5.0

Hello everybody,

Just got an HVX and must say that im stoked on the camera, so far only one setback... everytime that I try and import footage into fcp it gives me this message "One or more P2 clips failed to import; probable incomplete or corrupt clips" I have tried importing my footage on a couple different computers each running 5.1 and I always get this message. I downloaded the demo of P2 Log and It let me import the footage with no problem. I have tried reformatting the card and shooting more footage and importing in fcp 5.1, but I get the same message every time...
what could this be?
Is it a setting I messed up while im filming?
is there a plugin or something that I need to install for fcp?

thanks guys

How are you importing footge, are you dumping to hard drive or straight from the camera to fcp ?

You need the updated FCP 5.1.2 for inporting pal 720 footage however it seems your not in pal land so 5.1 should really work for you.
Download 5.1.2 anyway and see if it helps.

ive tried both; off my system hard drive and just off the card, neither work. No im not shooting pal and i have fcp 5.0 not 5.1

Do you have the problem with all p2 formats or just 720p etc ?
FCP 5.0.4 I know for a fact supports all NTSC formats so you really shouldn't have a problem.
I'm not sure about FCP 5.0 ?

FCP 5.0 does not support P2. The minimum is FCP 5.0.4. You should crossgrade to FCP 5.1 for bug fixes since there are problems with FCP 5.0.4 and rendered P2 footage.

For sure do the cross grade to 5.1, then use Software Updated to go up to 5.1.2, as the P2 import features are GREATLY enhanced.
