How do you get footage from a mac to a PC?

Forgive my ignorance of the topic.

I recently shot a short film on a Sony Z1 and captured the footage on FCP (it is HDV) it is currently stored on a lacie external disk.

Ideally I would like to export it onto my Pc where I have Premiere Pro 2 and Avid HD and more importantly, After Effects.

Presumably I need to export the file uncompressed, but where to because the Pc will obviously not recognise the hard drive.

What is the best solution?

Cheers in aedvance.

It has been my experience that if the footage has been digitized using FCP, the lack of the proper QT CODEC for Windows prevents the files from being used in windows.

If you find a way around that, I would love to hear about it! I have a bunch of client FCP digitized QT movies that I have to use a MAC to comp in After Effects, they do not play on a PC.

In addition, the MAC has to have FCP installed to play the FCP digitized QT movies. Installing FCP seems to be the only way to get the CODEC.

Not exactly true. FCP can output a .mov that virtually and PC based NLE can accommodate. I work cross platform all the time and this isn't a problem.

QT for the PC doesn't include the DVCPro/DVCProHD codec, so something else has to provide that. If you have Edius, you can open the QT files using it.

Sure, FCP can EXPORT PC compatable files, but it is the native QT files created by FCP when digitizing that QT for PC does not support. (DVCPro/DVCProHD Codec, like THoff said)
