Some frame grabs from my upcoming short film ILLEGAL - HVX + M2

Great looking footage dude. I love the crispness of the focused areas. I am planning on shooting a feature in April 2007 with an HVX and Brevis35 and am excited by your grabs.

I do notice the little bit of noise on the blurred parts but I'm guessing its like that for all adapters on still grabs. My grabs from a low light shoot I'm doing with a Brevis35 exhibit the same noise or grain and my grabs look similar but with a DVX as yo ucan see here.

I know most of the noise is because I was using a 75watt softlight to light the talent and it wasnt enough for the backgrounds but it seems that adapters just accent it. I also am shooting through a colored filter between the DVX and Brevis35 so that might be contributing also.

Also, how much did you pay for the lighting truck?
Can't wait to see some more grabs man, rock on.

YEa man, mine doesthat too. yo cant help it. You really cant get noise less image witha 35 adapter.

Just wanted to drop in and say this is the best HVX footage I've seen so far. By no doubt.

GREAT work man! Keep it going! :)

LOOKS F**KIN AWESOME ANDREW. and too think I couldve been a part of this piece and took another job instead. It's okay ill know there'll be others.

as for the screen grabs, they look great. I thought you told me you shot some scenes without the M2, am i mistaken? if so, are any of your screen grabs one of those?

thanks again for always for working with me.

Thanks so much guys!

Hey Vahe, what's up my man! Yeah, actually, after I rented the redrock from you that one time, we were able to convince the producers to get the redrock. So we hired a Camera Op that owned his own Redrock setup and we were good to go.

The last two frames were shot without the redrock of the ones I posted.

Trailer is still being cut. I'll post it shortly. Thanks guys!

The Echo Park shot above the 110 is my fave, with Downtown looming in the b.g. That field used to have oil pumps on it... right along side Dodger Stadium and the old Marine Corps Reserve base. Good shooting locale -- I grew up 3 seconds from there. The footage is fabulous. I'd love to check out this trailer and determine if my color correction can even minimally approximate the unbelievable job you have done.

DP was key, clearly. And so was that actress -- I need her phone number immediately, if not sooner. :)

Rock on!

Great stuff!! Man I am so glad to see others out there shooting the hell out of the HVX, truly impressive stuff. Leaves me with just one thing to say...

TRAILER TRAILER TRAILER!!! I wanna see these things moving!

You know, you don't have to clip together a perfect trailer either. Just post a raw clip from the dailies or something. Can you tell we're anxious!?!? :)

woah woah... slow down..

these seem too good for DVXUser.com...

Spectacular my friend! All shots look beautifully lit. The CC was awesome. This is what I would call a real Movie.

Get your popcorns ready, It's going to be a fantastic film.

As has already been said, your DP is a freaking god, and you guys have some killer images. Great work, can't wait to see that trailer!

I dont know if i posted here already but let me tell you again how much i appreciate your work. I was just watching some shots from Domino and I resemble a kind of same same cinematography. Wich is good, for me (and soo difficult to achieve)
