Red Electronic Measuring Tape - Depth of Field display?

I think we're all getting very excited about RED getting close to locking things down. I'd like to make some last suggestions on the Focus Assist.

1. Will RED have some form of Electronic Measuring Tape that tells us how far objects are - like the new "The Cine Tape Measure System continuously measures the distance between the subject and the camera's film plane."

2. Will RED be compatable with Cooke's new "intelegence" Lenses?
ie - Continuous electronic feedback on lens setting, focus distance, aperture, depth-of-field and more. I'd like to see red have their own version of this.

3. If not, then is their any chance that RED could add some of these features into their focus assist.
1a. And indicator that tells you which way to focus - closer or farther?
2b. Depth of Field - would be great - no more looking up charts!

If you can aim the camera at something, you'll be able to focus it accurately with the focus assist. I don't think you need any kind of digital measuring tape.

Although the systems mentioned display the focus setting (in ft or m) on the lens, they do not tell how far the talent is from the film plane. In other words:
the 1st AC, has a remote unit in his hands showing him the lens is at 5ft and 3".
He should still "guess" the talent/camera distance to roll focus from 5.3 to 5.5 (or so) as the action progresses, or.... roll from talent to the door behind while the dolly pushes-in... etc.
Some of the readers that have used cinetape will know its strengths and weaknesses.

Cheers,
