Pal Dvcpro Hd Log & Capture Not Suported On Fcp Update

I just updated my copy of FCP and the PAL DVCPRO HD sequence setting are all there but in the log and capture window there is no option for PAL users wishing to capture over firewire from a Deck or Camera.

Does anyone now if there is a work around for this? As I would like to capture dirrectly from My PAL HVX200 into FCP.

Apple only updated the DVCPRO HD codec to allow 720p25 but did not update the DVCPRO HD digitize component to allow capture. A note on the new 720p25 support says:

"Via P2 ingest only. Capture from and output to tape is not supported."

Yep I have been doing that in the past but I was hoping that in the updats there would be full suport of 720p 25p but i guess I was wishing for too much.
 
This sucks!
I´ve really been waiting for this option!
Is it that difficult to implement?
Is there someone at Apple to talk to about that?
 
Why do apple do this?
We in europe are getting a real raw deal.
IS THE HVX TOO MUCH CAMERA FOR APPLE.

Before anyone yells at Apple for not supporting direct capture of 720/25P, do remember that Native data streams only to the P2 card slot; it does not go along the Firewire. This has been much discussed elsewhere. It's a feature of the camera; can't moan about Apple - in fact I think they've done great to respond as they have, and in a relatively short time. Perhaps SpecComm will one day offer a cable that goes from the P2 slot direct to a laptop (as they have one which joins their HDD to P2).

HD Log Gold--captures directly to QT files from FireWire. Always has.
