Removing 1080 24PA pulldown...

Yeah...so I just upgraded FCP to 5.1.1. I've shot a bunch of stuff in 1080P 24PA and I can't get the pulldown out of the footage. The checkbox on P2 import seems to do nothing and the Remove Advanced Pulldown option give me an error. What gives?

Interesting... here's a post from a couple days ago suggesting that that tutorial (which I referenced as well) isn't necessary... perhaps Ben could step in with his procedure for removing pulldown without needing Cinema Tools...

cinema tools is the only way i know how, at this point. it is admittedly retarded, but once you have the workflow defined, you just do it and accept life the way it is. i hope -- and am confident -- that a new FCP update will eliminate this circumvention tactic.

"should" ; meaning in a perfect world of software upgrades, this is what Apple "should" do ; or "should" in the sense of you have personal experience and KNOW that 5.1.2 resolves that issue...? (sorry, I'm a lawyer and an obsessive HVX/FCP interfacer, so I be sure what we're talking about...)

Just tried it and 1080p24A works as it should in FCP. However, there seems to be a major bug. FCP tags the quicktime file the wrong dimensions. Instead of 1920 x 1080, they are, 1888 x 1062!
