Help! - G4 Powerbook Vs. P2 Card

Hi Guys -

Here's the deal -

I have an HVX200. I love it. Anyone who has shot with one knows what I am talking about. Today I was shooting at Standard Def,, writing to my 4GB P2 cards. I tried to download the footage to my G4 Powerbook and nothing. The computer no longer recognizes the cards (either card). My OS is up to date, and the P2 PC Card driver is installed. The workflow was working fine a couple of weeks ago, and now nothing.

The obvious problem is that the PCI slot is fried. The computer has gone through its paces, but I was wondering whether or not any of you out there have experienced the same problem. I did load up an upgrade to the OS recently, that could be it. Or, maybe I am just missing something. Let me know what you guys think. Below is a description of my computer system.

Have you tried using the camera as a P2 reader in device mode? Does the camera recognize the clips and play them back?

BTW - I am still able to transfer the data via camera/firewire in 1934 mode. Still need help the other way though.

Try booting up the laptop with the card in the slot. If that doesn't work you may need to re-load the p2 driver as the OS update may have affected that.

So device mode worked for you? I appears that maybe the driver is dead like ozduc said, or the PCMCIA slot is no good anymore. :( But if DEVICE MODE worked, then the driver is actually fine and its been narrowed down to the slot.

Thank you so much for your assistance. I will keep trying, however I fear that my powerbook is about to give up the ghost. Arghh.

I hope that someday I will be able to help you all out as well.
