Hi I am on location at the Toronto Film festivel and I am having some space issues.

I am editing on Premiere 2.0 and I just converted my MXF files into AVI files using CineForm. I am wonering if I can delete the MXF files if I have the avi files and it is these that I will be using for the final out put anyway. I really need the space and the avi files seem to hold both the video and the audio.

Is it ok to delete the MXF files now?

Thanks so much for your time.

Well that depends. If you're the kind of person that would wipe over a master tape once you have it digitized then by all means go ahead. You have to think of the MXF files as a master tape. I'd suggest getting an external drive to store them on.

are you crazy??
NO! don't delete your MXF.
Thats like erasing your raw when the edit is done, and thats just stupid.
