DID YOU SEE??!? DID YOU SEE??! REDCINE will allow you to go all the way back down to SD!!! OH MY GOD!!!

That's MAJOR

REDCINE is the most interesting news. I like the solutions and simplicity. Wonder about the speed of the process. Realtime? How fast if not realtime? Will run on my mac? etc. I know the answers are coming.

Body itself looks very nice! But the cage and rails makes the setup look so "brutal", like RPG/WMD..

Footage and stills are the most wanted now!

Good Job RED!

Typical English weather... it's so sunny (unusual) I can't read the grey text on the black background for the light coming through the window lol

Any ideas on price of the rail/cage yet? Or do they come free with the body lol (Yeah I know that's pushing it!)

Also, is Redcine something that comes packaged with the camera or is it a supplimentary piece of software to purchase and again any idea on prices at all (estimates fine :))

Good god it looks horrible

Good god it looks horrible

The thing that is weird is that we've never seen one of these rigs loaded up with REAL accessories. I want to see a Mattebox, Follow Focus, Follow Focus Motor, FF Receiver, Wireless Audio Transmitters, and maybe a LENS. I know everybody keeps saying that Red is all chock full of shooting experience but the more I see, the more I doubt this assertion.

What happened to the EVF? Is is out? Is that it on the back? How do we see the footage in any detail? Next thing you know there won't even be any exposure evaluation tools in the software.

Can the battery and media still fit inside the camera body?

What the heck is the thing on the end of the rods? An ipod holder?

Hey, Jim, could you at least make CAD drawings of the final body design available a little bit before shipment so I can get working on making some useful accessories like a bridge plate with rods, transmitter plates and a handle?

I know it's no longer part of the body but a detachable unit, but what I think you are asking is if there will be one included in the current price? Am I right? I'm also curious about this.

Good idea. If I were to make a run of bolt-ons for RED it would be nice to have CAD drawings, would eliminate reverse engineering phase.

I was expecting something like Redcine from all of Red's hype, and also thought that it would be the biggest factor in winning a customer base.

But I wasn't expecting 4.5K to EVERYTHING and ANYTHING!!!

I'd like to know that, too. The Red rail has the camera sitting on your shoulder, so there's no way to see the viewfinder if it's mounted on the camera, or worse yet on top of the camera. I was hoping it would have an EVF and a flip out LCD for us run and gun guys.

I think the thing on the end of the rod is where the battery and the Red drive goes. Not sure where the Red flash would fit. Maybe the same place?

The pictures look cool, but we'd like to get more details. I understand that the Red team is small and very busy, but hopefully soon...

"Monitor: Flex mounted High Resolution LCD, High Resolution color EVF (optional)"

There seems to be a larger info display on the back as well. There was a smaller one on the side in the last mockup.
