First impressions of Demo Reel...

Hey guys, so I've finally decided to cut a demo reel together..
this is a rouch cut so far...clocked at 2 mins...it still needs some work (mainly in text work and what not) but i'm curious as to what you think so far.

The start was weak in my oppinion. But the 2nd half was much better.

That trafic shot looked really cool.
Nice 3d work in there too.
And the ending was good, left me wanting more.

agree with Mikko, the start was slow...

I really think that a lot of the shots lacked contrast, they had a very flat appearance and don't pop off the screen. I liked most of the editing. The night shots were fantastic!
 
Agree with previous comments... lots of cool stuff in there. The sound bothered me a little, seemed the volume difference when there was dialogue and music was a bit too much... so I either couldnt hear the dialogue well or I turned it up then the music was too loud.

i second everything else thats been said here, but i will say that the jib/crane shots looked great! -- also, the lighting in the car scene where they mentioned a warning that says "bullsh*t" was very awkward. where was that constant light coming from?? outside the window?
 
i paused ratatat on my computer, clicked on your video and ratatat started playing... weird...
sad to say the music interested me more than the video.
 
what is this a demo for? Directing? DPing? Editing? Corporate stuff?

I'm not sure what I would hire you for after whatching this. Except maybe previs work. The CG bedroom and Spider-man were cool, but of coarse not something I'd want to see in a finished product.

If nothing else, the sound and the ending need work. But as you said, it's a rough cut so I imagine you already knew that.
