Screen Grabs / Color Corr? TELL ME YOUR THOUGHTS!

Yeah, hopefully someone will because nobody wants you here. Find another board to troll and annoy because this one certainly doesn't appreciate your services.

NOMADIC-

The CC on the grabs is alright, like Malcolm said, I also like the first grab better before CC. Like others have said, I would adjust your H/S to more of a brown/tan which will make your skintones look more natural. Keep trying different stuff and you'll eventually come up with something you are pleased with.

Before you insult me again because of my comment about low-contrast, consider this. There are several companies that make filters for video camcorders that are LOW CONTRAST! Look it up, they also say using these low contrast filters makes your footage look more like film. I was being sarcastic about these filters. Dont insult someone before you know the whole story.

Oh yeah, I forgot that in Singapore people speak better English.

This coming from a guy whose homepage says his movie is called "A thing abuot loev"

Lakmir0, you look really filmlike...

are you shot at 24fps? and what kind of gamma curve do you have going on?

The only thing ridiculous is your lack of English skills and usage. I see that the "Briceman" and Invisible Productions (invisible because his great products dont exist) have a bias against me. That is fine but note, I was being sarcastic. I guess you two boys are too young to understand sarcasm, cynicism, or anything else other than literal interpretation.

I know this post will be removed because Brinceman will cry to the Moderator like he did yesterday.
Not defending anyone--

But, Loki? Your grammar really isn't on par, either.

That was seriously calling the kettle black.

One would only need to read the rest of the entries to realise the notion that the said typo was intentional, rather than one borne out of poor mastery of the english language:thumbsup:

EDIT: We've seriously hijacked NOMADIC's thread. Sorry.

A typo with a typo means not a typo doesn't it? Loev is a typo, Love is a typo'ed typo. In short, I don't get you.

A typo is a mistake that you didnt mean to create. Therefore, if you intended to say "A thing abuot loev" and you typed "A thing about loev", then it is a typo even though "about" was spelled correctly because it wasn't your intent. Therefore, it is still a typo.

Check the site please, its 'A Flim Abuot Loev'. I'm rather obsessive about my spelling - Even when its intentionally misspelled. I'm not sure where the 'misspelled' typo is...i swear i checked everything. Thanks for pointing it out to me..i'll try to find it and rectify it

your cc, or cg, wateva.. is o.k... cant really tell without knowing the theme of the video and the style of music??. its like...um, like...... buying 'virtual property' on the internet for money! ...no wait that doesnt make any sense ¿

HAHAHAHA, that's so funny.... Singapore people speak better english! Indeed..... - no more this colour, this can can? no want this one lah... that's better english? hahaha...

It seems you've been to Singapore and have been exposed to the national language...Singlish. Well, every country has its linguistic doldrums - America being the proud owner of Hill Billies and 1337$p3@|<, britain for cockney english, and other countries for whatever

Ok please I read through two pages of rubbish (arguing) just to see what others had said about this guys CC'ing. Anyway I liked the general feel, I would try to take the red down a fraction more without overdoing it. I think for me the issue was the original exposure was a little hot in areas. The first shot is hot on his head and it fealt to me like you wanted to keep the background talent reasonably exposed also . So I offer this, the shot is of the foreground guy so dont worry about anything else just his exposure as a general rule.

I'm right there with you, ncje. Simply reducing some of the red in the images and maybe be careful not to black out the image with contrast. But a little bit of extra contrast is always nice. Overall, I like the grabs.

And about the two pages of rubbish, why does everyone have to act like grade-school girls about this topic? Just quit being so rude all of the time, and enough of the sarcasm. Joking is fine, but ripping on one another because they call Color Grading "Color correcting", which MANY people do, just isn't acceptable. Grow up children.

this is for the people who have acutally commented about the grabs, I know the hot spots are issue. It sucks becasue i decided you cant trust a LCD screen, I should have had the zebra detect on. anyway...

about the greenish colorizing some on suggested on it... thank you for your opinion, but I absolutely hate that look, If I am shooting under cheap unbalacned floursents, than i deal with it, but some times its nice to do work with a more true skin tone, or else it just looks like every other crappy indie band's music video (nothing against indie bands)

as for the red tint in the singer's skin tone.... funny thing about that is that he is acutally really sunburnt from hawaii. So I am going to pull back the tint a little, so he doesnt look like a lobster

and as for the bullcrap that keeps being said on here... if you are going to have little girl fights about stupid stuff, I really question how/if any of you can work one day on a set... would you act like a complete whinny kid there too.

and lastly, I know there are typos in this.. you guys can pick it apart like you seem to enjoy to do, but I dont care.... this is a video camera message board, not a grammer advocacy board.

thanks

haha, now that you mention it, he does look a little bit sunburnt. So your colors are pretty darn accurate. Well, here's another 2 cents from me... If you're satisfied with the look already, and you think that the images look good, don't worry about doing anything crazy to the image. If you get some wild ideas for it down the road, try it out!

and I also wonder about the working conditions of these people who can't get over the fact that someone calls something by a different name (yeah, TECHNICALLY it's wrong, but GET OVER IT) and have small cat fights on the INTERNET.
