Since Principal photography on DEADLANDS has wrapped, I have been helping shoot another horror/psychological thriller film for members of the DEADLANDS make-up team.

I also serve as editor on the project and also did some of the DP work on the project. Here is the teaser for that film (please excuse the sound FX, my library of Sound FX is limited) I was the DP on all of the color sequences for this teaser using my DVX100

hmm... it looks very interesting. I have a few small suggestions for the trailer.

- the noise from the punch just sounded way overdone. I'm not sure, but I got the feeling, from the music and story, that this is supposed to be serious. That noise just screams comedy. Try recording someone punching a piece of thick meat, perhaps with a few hard pieces of plastic on top.

- the shots in black and white were very flat and a little unattractive. Try adjusting the contrast a little and try to get some of your blacks really BLACK.

Other than that, it's a pretty good teaser.

i thought everything was moving in the right direction maybe a few extra step could maybe be taken to help bring it to be more realistic looking like making killer look a liitle older, maybe play around with the blood some more to give a better gore effect i really think the tone of what u want is there. just small things setting u back. but i did like it, good job

I am only the editor and 2nd Unit DP. The guys in charge of the FX are also the directors. I have told them the blood is too pink, but they are trying to do an homage to the blood Savini used in DAWN of the DEAD 1978. They are huge Fulci, Nicotero, and Savini fans.

Besides providing the equipment for them to shoot it all I can do is make the suggestions however they get final say... you know the biz. :)
