watch some 35mm footage (DVX)

Not bad. Don't be so negative on yourself. :)

Unix beat me to the interlace comment.

This is a perfect example for young filmmakers of the effect given when you break the 180 rule. (very disorienting)

Very nice! I really like how it looks! Yeah, there's interlacing, but seeing past it, I think you've got some good footage there.

Nathan,
I like the colors a lot. What kind of CC did you do? I too have a Letus35. I usually set my manual focus to 95. I was just wondering if that's what you're doing since your footage is looking more in focus than mine.

Hey. as far as CC most of it took place on the camera., but after I added just a
little more blue in FCP just using the little color wheel. I increased the blacks a little
and then I sharpened the shot (FCP) to a 7. As far as focusing goes I just had
one hand holding the camera and the other on the lens and just kept watching the
lcd to keep it in focus.

I just turn off the vibration switch and manually focus the camera until you see the little specks. after that you should be fine. hope this made
some sense

Nathan,
I'll go ahead and try what you said. This does help. I'm always curious to know what other fellow Letus users are doing to improve the quality of their image.

Just a couple of more things if possible -- What detail level did you have the camera set to? Do you usually zoom all the way or do you have a specific number that works for you without showing any vignette? Thanks for any info!
Jgastelb

well #1 detail - mine is at 4, BUT DETAIL CORING is all the way up (+7)
(this works well for letus35)

#2 zooming - really depends on the lens you are you using, BUT you want to zoom in
as little as possible without showing any sides. (obviously). The farther you zoom in the more barrel distortion you will have !(this makes it seem like it won't focus as well) If you have the choice to move the camera closer to the subject or to zoom in ALWAYS move the camera closer.

I don't really have a number for my zooms

hope this helps out some
