Recording HD straight to laptop with FCP 4.5 ?

I'm renting the hvx this weekend and dont want to upgrade to FCP 5 yet.
Recording HD straight to laptop with FCP 4.5. Will this work ?
I am in PAL land.

Hi Cinephil
As l understand it, you'll only be able to capture SD formats.
No HD formats, you'll have to get hold of Final cut 5.04.

HOWEVER DOUBLE CHECK

I think you should be able to stream DVCPRO-HD over final cut hd (4.5)
you wont be able to import via P2 without 5.04 and above.
