Hitman - Short Film

It's what u do with the footage that matters. HVX/DVX/Panavision who cares. Go out make a movie. Stop worrying up camera labels.

How about you act a little less high and mighty (honestly, I don't think what you've shown us warrents any sort of ego) and learn to read buddy. The section is called "Screen Grabs/Clips of HVX footage."

Wowie.... Overall was pretty entertaining. I do enjoy all manner of action and like to see challenging projects and yours certainly did stand up to that.

My points would be brief and be this.. and everyone is right... you need to be open and take what people give you as just opinions.. some are good, some are people taking pot shots and poo-pooing for whatever reason.. but posting on this site gets candid and frank comments.. which is why I love it. So.

The canned livetype opening logo should be changed.... Major low-budget look.. and I can't stand canned backgrounds and livetype to begin with.. Just IMHO.. just me hre maybe.

Also.. you did have a mix of really nice camerawork and some great action.. scenes, VO and what not.. which was then juxaposed and mixed with somethings that looked low-budget and amateur.. Kind of a hodge podge of sorts... And I agree with the running scenes and some of the crazy stuff. I would say though that the jump across the train tracks did look awesome. Really really did look great. How did you pull that off?

Also, you jumped to the crazy house thing so quickly... like in a split second it went down.. and I think it could have been drawn out more or spliced into the piece to set-up things more and add more of a climax and excitment. Kind of lead up to it and then flat-lined...

Overall, shows some good promise and could be better served with a re-edit and on the DVX site. There is quite a difference between the HVX and the DVX in pretty much most people's opinions.. and that's why we might hang out here...

Take it for what this is worth and keep it up.

That was a productive statement I made. And far as reading is concerned DavidBeier, I can read that you're a critic. And we know what critics do best...funny isn't it?

I suppose I'd be as crass as you, Iffy, if I thought I were posting something that'd blow the community away... and it just didn't happen.Seriously, post your footage in the proper place? Everyone pretty much gave you constructive criticism and kudos for doing it. Let's not be too vindictive when corrected for what was probably a mistake on your part.

If you definition of a critic is someone who knows the difference between an HVX and a DVX then I guess I'm guilty as charged.

I've made several films with the DVX100 and now that I'm the proud owner of an HVX200 I plan to make more on that. My last film won The University of New Orleans Film Festival. I'll post some stills from it on the DVX board when I get a chance.
