Barrys Book Now Shipping!

I also consider $100 to be a bit pricey, of course it is a book for an expensive piece of equipment, but how much would a book about the Cinealta or Viper (or about Ferrari...) cost then ?
Anyhow I´m waiting for reviews first, just because I own the DVX book and so far I found the HVX quite familiar.
I`m also curious what´s on the DVD...?
In the end I´m pretty sure a copy will end up in my camera bag...

Thans for all the help your giving, Barry!

Its a book with a CD.

on the order page, you will see item number HVXbook... dvxbook is on there but thats just cause thats how we setup the book Paypal email.

Specialized technical books tend to be over $100.. Books on the Viper or Cinealta range from $180-$300.

Well it looks like me and Spartacus are the only tight asses around here, so I take it I am in the wrong, though not embarressed to give an opinion of the price. I am sure the book is excellent given Barrys expert knowledge.

I'll now wait a couple of weeks to see what others think before re morgaging the house to get a copy!;)

I think that barrys book would be a nice "excuse" for the hundreds of european HVX 200E buyers who are waiting to get their KATA-promotion bag for 3 month allready!(o.k.-some received the free battery, thanks but its a hard wait for a bag!!)

What do you think Barry/Jarred, wanna contact the chief of promotion europe?

Would be GREAT and could be also a good deal for barry..there are 750 people waiting for the bag...go go Barry!!!

Barry has already contacted Europe for the DVX book deal and I dont think it worked out well.. but maybe its time again.

Its funny people have an issue with price.. its 89 dollars.. $20 more than the DVX book, but its 50% larger.. and in color, and costs 5x more to print. HVX is 2x as much camera as the DVX.. and almost 2x the price.

Considering nobody here pays to read DVXuser.com or for the free help Barry gives out on a Daily basis here.. I think its nice we all can support Barry somehow in his efforts... I mean it took him almost a year to write the HVX book.

Hi,

I wouldn't necessarily call it a Rebate Program, as it is not really a Rebate Program. It is a reward for purchasing an Authorized US product and taking the time to register the product. The website will go up shortly and then once that happens, it will be shipped within a week of the registration. We are using a different vendor than the one on the DVXBook/rebate, since there is no money involved. We do the same thing on our AJ-SDX900 Goodman's Guide.

So just know that it is in process.

Best,

Jan

Please note everyone who purchased their HVX from a Authorized US dealer.. in aprox. 1 month this book will be available through the rebate program for you, so if you buy it now here you will get another one in a month... you can keep it or sell it to someone else, but we wont give you refund for it.

yea same here, ordered it last night and even gave wrong Addy, WHY is mine not here, I paid for piority shipping, Hence the word PRIORITY.. It should have been here last night, but I am a nice guy and thought I would give it another 12 hours... :) lol

Barry is on a 20 hour plane ride so you guys are gonna hafta wait another 6 hours till he lands. He has Skynet on the plane and has reserved the 2 seats around him so he is picking and packing as he flys. The moment he touches down, a USPS representive is meeting him at the gate to offload all the orders and that postmaster is personally taking the USPS private jet to each of your houses.. so you gotta wait a few more hours.

lol..

Maybe I miss something but what about the New York bootycamp. I only see La bootcamp get them for free ($289 including book). The first bootcamp had a 100 discount. That leaves NY :)

Is there a website or something where we can find out all the details about the book? (Sorry if this has already been posted. I didn't have time to read through the entire thread).

I would like to know what is the difference between the free user guide and the "not free" Barry's book? I don't say there isn't but i guess theres is a lot of things that are more or less the same and some add-on that deserve to pay that price. What are the benefits of this book?

Well, if you have it, then you are da man.

Just kidding. To put it simple, the manual explains the functions of the camera, and Barry's HVX Book tells you, how to shoot great stuff, how to get the most out of your camera.

i have to say that the users guide is very limited in its scope, and I look forward to the in depth info on settings ect. that Barry will provide. I had a ring at the door earlier and it was the postman so I thought "wow, that was fast" I rushed downstairs to find a package of my girlfriends cross stiching she ordered. buzz kill.

Even though I will eventually get one for free, I just bought another one.

If nothing else, I'm glad to support a guy like Barry for everything he's done for us. Besides, having a second one at home can't be a bad thing.
