MUSIC VIDEO- The Black Heart Procession

Wow. Loved it. Excellent work... lighting in every scene was awesome. Not sure if I really understand what was going on, though. Like the guy running in the street, for example... what was that? REALLY loved the still shots of the guy and the girl. Very original.

Do I dare ask for a few details?
Lighing? Adaptor, or not?

video looks good!
did you shoot that at the casbah?
lol
i shot my first "music video" there...

This video looks really good. What were the settings that you used? And what did you edit that in? And last question what version of the dvx did you shoot with?
But I liked the quality of the film it really looked excellent!

lol - casbah yes.. i did say it was no bugeter.. the band have a history here and sell the place out when they play there... so with no $$ it made sense to use it.

not much with lighting . used an arri softbank kit and a lot of available light. no adaptor- just the straight dvx. it was just me and an assistant on the crew so we tried to keep it really simple. + we had little time. all of the band / casbah interiors were done in less than half a day.

cut it in FCP. DVX100a

thanks.

I just watched it again and you really did a good job. So that was straight out of the DVX 100... sure was a kick butt no budget music video.

thanks vicnewton.. not too much done to the image just desaturation and blacks crushed using the 3way CC in FCP.

hey thats awesome, the casbah is a great spot. Love that weird vinyl stage wall from which you can create all this little hotspots. lol....

I like how you incorporate footage from one of your old music videos into this one! Works perfectly together

Was that stuff (with the guy and girl... the stills, which I remember moved in your other one) shot on the DVX?

if so, what did you light with? looked amazing against that background!

good job man

that is actually part one and we shot it all at the same time.

i used a arri 650 fresnel with a softbox over them and the singer against that background. i shot at 24p and cut on a 29.97 timeline. we lit the guy running with a Frezzolini sun gun, hand held out of the back of my honda element. i'll dig out the settings and post in a bit. got to have some coffee first. glad you guys are diging it.

DETAIL LEVEL -4
CHROMA LEVEL -3
COLOR TEMP +3
MASTER PED -5

SHUTTER MAINLY SET Between 1/24 and 1/48

except for the shots of the singer against the background 1/120 just to give it a bit of edge.

we used an indy dolly and a kessler 8ft crane.
