DVCPRO HD Codec for AVID?!

Does anyone know if there is a DVCPRO HD codec for AVID?

I'm sending clips, shot and pulled into FCP from my HVX-200, out on DVD-R, and none of the legacey AVID editors can import them. Is this a simple QT update for PC?

Also - having shot 60i slo-mo footage.
Is there a way to convert this back to 29.97 for 100% speed?
Is this a simple time change in FCP with no frame blending?

Any help is appreciated!

I had the same issue with the PC side (see this discussion) please post an update if you are able to open an FCP P2 imported DVCPRO HD file on an Avid system after installing the above codec pack.

If you have AVID installed the codecs are there. I've succesfully imported 1080 and 720p .mov files created in FCP, in AVID and on PC just fine, they also playback fine BUT you will never be able to play these files directly with quicktime unless you import them on AVID and export them.

This is apple's mistake and has to do with the feature-missing implementation of Quicktime on PC.

Hope this helps.

I think it would depend entirely on which Avid Systems they are using. You say legacy systems, are you talking about the Meridian systems? If so then there is the catch. I don't believe that those will support the DVCPRO HD codec natively.

Best,
