Clucking Sound - HVX200

Just received my HVX200!!! Tested recording and everything is just awesome!
The only thing makes me paranoid is that “Clucking Sound” inside of lenses when camera is “OFF”. Sounds like something is not “fixed” and just got loose. But, when camera is “ON”, sound disappears! If I switch from CAMERA MODE to VCR sound is back…

Is it me or something wrong with the camera??? Any HVX owners – make me sleep in peace!!!

Thanks!

Awesome is a little over used these days.

If everything is awesome, it kinda makes everything mundane.

In any case, that sound as being normal is documented here extensively and referenced in the manual as well.

I'd only be worried if you found an egg underneath the camera.

Well, actually, that sound is created by the post-menopausal indution of the cooling quarters.

Nothing to worry about unless the camera begins to vibrate.

If that happens, strap it down, and hope for a miracle.

Hope that helps.

Hey, mine quacks! And there's smoke coming from the Mini-DV tapes!

Oh wait, I set those on fire on purpose, never mind...

But it still quacks...

I used an XL-1s the other day for the first time in years. It didn't "cluck" and I thought the less of it for not doing so.

Your XL-1 doesn't cluck?... That something too worry about.

That clunking sound you're hearing in your HVX is actually Timmy (the little elf that lived in my left sneaker). He relocated recently.

My HVX makes a similar type of noise when I'm urinating. It's an optical image stabilization issue that responds only to ammonia or biological fluids. Basically, what I'm saying is, you should clean the lens.

Ok, got my noise problem figured out. Well, except for when I turn on the GPS system in my Van, then my HVX only records some government station from Bejing.
