I've talked with Avid, and it indicates that this release, which is scheduled for June 22, will support direct import of MXF files from p2 cards.

The PC version has supported most P2 formats (except 720p 25/50) since version 5.1 or so. Version 5.5 brings all the same features to the Mac side plus a few extra features such as Mojo SDI support, DVI Full screen monitoring and various other small improvements. So yes, Mac XPro 5.5 will have P2 support except for 720p25.

Thats right. MXF is supported natively in Xpress Pro 5.x.
