If you are shooting 2 cameras and importing into final cut pro P2 cards... is it likely or even possible for a file named by one camera to have the same name as another camera and be over written durring capture into FCP?
Not really. Barry can comment more on this, but he asked Panny about this and they assured him there are too many variables.
I was on a two camera shoot not to long ago. We kept camera reports and labeled them as cam A and cam B. When we dragged files onto the computer we simply had a folder for each camera (A and B). If there were any redundancies, we would have caught them.
Thanks for responding Jeff... we will be using final cut to import Panasonic P2 on set... I was thinking they could import panasonic P2, create bins, and drop the clips in to bins like camera rolls CAM_A_001 or A001 CAM_B_001 or B001 my concern is that final cut will place all the clips in a shared hard drive folder, but they will be married on set and checked for issues immediately? On a side note, there will likely be very minimal Camera B work?
