Another HVX200 test clip!

I reposted the sample clip of some footage we shot the other day! This one should work. The clip was shot MOS. So there is no sound. It was not the intent to get pretty pictures, however more of a single light grit look with soft screen and a very slight bounce. The light had a pale gold gel if anyone cares about that extra bit of info. . This was shot for getting workflow "IT" testing material anyways.

Just tried to DL.
QT player reports it's dependent on an external mediafile, so it doesn't seem to be selfcontained...

The file was uploaded for a colleague who wanted to see it at their facility. Since I was file sharing the clip to them, I thought I would at least show it here since people like to see HVX stuff. The clip will only be up for a day or so, until they get it. That's all...

Thanks for sharing I for one am really enjoying seeing how everyone else is setting their cameras up and the different looks everyone is getting. Excellent stuff.

I like everything pappa does with a camera. Some of the most film like footage I've seen was from pappa and his hd100. Mr. angry half a face, from this latest clip has got a lot of charisma. Pappa if you ever make a feature film I think you should star him.

Thanks Kendal!

Anders give it a try now! Thanks for taking the time to look too!

Very nice footage PappasArts. I like the lighting especially in the closeup shots.
By the way - what did you use to compress the footage? sorenson, Quicktime?

Thanks for sharing

Thanks carlone! The codec was photo-jpeg. This codec works good, and on this file it was 50% quality. 1280 and above quick clips would be at 75%. However the file sizes can get big. Also it renders a lot faster than h.264

I was going to ask the same question, about the compression. It looks extremely clean.

The lighting is pretty cool. Glad to see real tests coming out of the woodwork now.

Thanks, pappas.

Your welcome Koli, and thanks for taking the time to view. The HVX200 has performed excellent. It's an amazing camera. The highlight handling is sweet. Excellent DR to?

Photo Jpeg is the compression. and yes it's clean. However it can create large file sizes. Have you ever used photo jpeg on video files?

Koli. have you chosen a camera yet?

I actually havent' chosen a camera yet. I don't think I'll actually buy a camera, simply because I have a DVX100a at my disposal and I can rent any HD cam that I'd need for a project (or ask a friend.)

But, even if i'm not purchasing, my company is ready to move to another camera, and it'll either be two HVX200's or two XLH1's.

I'll actually have a reall big influence on which camera they choose to go with, and I'm thinking HVX200, honestly.

Seeing these kind of tests (even one just using an orange gel) helps me to see what it'll perform like in the studio.
