Does anyone know of compatible HD projection ?
We have recording, editing on the 'puter, playback by streaming (or other?), and finally... where could someone display high quality Red-originated material?

Thanks,

Jeff Patnaude

At an affordable level, there's the Sony VPL VW100, about $9K, its 1080p.
That's as high a resolution as you're going to get under $100k

there are actually tons of options past 1080. Sony's 4k projector isn't experimental its being produced, and costs under 100k. (98k ha ha ha)

Cristie and Barco both make 2k DLP projectors.

Sanyo makes 2k LCD projectors.

Lots of 2k monitors, 4k im sure will pop up in a few years.

yeah to say there your stuck at 1080p under 100k is a little silly.. there are new 2ks popping up every few months.

prototypes, well at NAB they were showing 8k projectors that were working... we all sat and watched it in action.

8k wow...oh... you need 16 opterons & 150gb of ram to edit!!! :)

NHK.. incredible stuff. They were showing the 8k projector shooting on 20x30 foot screen with 22 channels of Audio.

Resolution was 7680x4320 lines.. 32 million pixels baby. Thats 16x the information of 1080i.. and the camera had 16 hd-sdi outs on the back of it shooting a still life set outside the booth.

here is a really crappy cell phone photo i took of my buddy Ted from RED and the camera.. insane stuff

Oh my DVX! sorry... GOD... ok... then 32kilos of opterons, 15kilos of ram will be my next configuration :)

We use a 2k projector at the HDbootcamps to screen the hvx stuff as well. I think Evin paid 12,000 for that one.
