Hey All,
Well we made it back from alright with all the gear and cameras intact. I got a chance to shoot some HD footage of the island with my HVX which is located here: http://www.freshdv.com

WARNING ITS ABOUT 90MB so its a big file. We filmed a wedding and then stayed over for vacation so I shot some scenery, not as much as I would have liked as I caught up in the whole vacation thing, and didn't feel like dragging my camera along everywhere with me. I took along a firewire HDD drive and dumped footage to the drive from the camera off and on during the trip.

Kendal. Very very nice looking footage. That is a great sunset shot you have and such nice colors.. and YEP, ya have to love the CC options with the HVX...

I have found that even with years of experience with the DVX100 that this camera takes some learning to shoot right, HECK I feel like I learn something new every time I shoot with this cam. Kinda fun but it definitely has a learning curve I posted most of the settings I used on FreshDV.com

I don't think Lighthouse was saying anything bad about Jamaica. Sounds like he was just talking about the trip.

BTW good stuff man. Might want to try and make those CC clips a little less magenta and more orange.

I was being VERY positive. Believe me I have traveled on airlines a lot and had stuff dropped lost, dinged in beat up etc, In fact my storm case I had all my audio gear in looked like it went through Vietnam when I reclaimed it. So to say the least whenever I travel with that much gear ($15,000) thats alot to me, I'm very happy when I get back and everything 1. Made it safely to its final destination, and 2. EVERYTHING WAS INTACT!! So what I was saying was both positive and nice you simply misread it.

The colours in Jamaica are HD without the cam as you well know.
Good stuff and very impressive colours.
Did you shoot 1080i or 720p?
No harm done whats so ever.

Yes,
Jamaica is very beautiful, and I'd love to go back someday without all the gear. This was shot in 720P...all my settings and additional info is posted at freshdv.com
 
That's beautiful footage! If you have a chance, I'd love to see a sample of clips in full HD rez, (but compressed in H.264) if you have the chance!
 
Yeah. The footage is great but I also wanted to see it in 720. It was kind of sad when you had what looked like great color correction with the tagline "CC to show the power of 4:2:2 color space) but the image was so small. Could you perhaps just post that last shot in full rez? Still, color me impressed.

We already ate up all the bandwidth at 90MB Matt Jeppson at FreshDV.com is hosting this and there is no way he can host full frame clip. Just to with the small clip it ate over 13GBs since I posted this morning.
 
I can host it for you at hvx200.moctel.com. If you have it at a URL I can download it directly there, or I can setup a FTP account
 
Uhmm...I'm pretty sure MAtt temporarily bumped it from the server but He should have it back up in an hour if it isn't up in the morning I'll PM you.
 
How much bandwidth do you have? I haven't come anywhere near my 1440 gigs per month... and until last week, I didn't even know I had that much. Isn't the internet great...
