Lucky Duck
Man, it sure is lonely on this part of DVXUser :)

This time I brought along my tripod to my favorite park in Washington, Marymoor. Those of you who are familiar with the films on my site will recognize this park. What a difference a tripod makes (Like I didn't know that already). The steadiness of the shots really adds to the weight of the image and makes it much more filmic, in my opinion.

Oh yeah, I shot a scene with lots of detail in the forground and background (the circus one in 24f is in the group below) in both 24f and 60i and I didn't really see any difference in the detail on a 42" plasma. I'm sure with a $25,000 HD production monitor you could decipher the differences but to me it looked identical aside from the more filmic motion of 24f. That's encouraging

My Smooth Shooter from Glidecam arrived today. I'll use it with my Glidecam 4000 Pro. The whole setup looks like a full Steadicam rig.

In the meantime, here are the clips. All shots are 24f. Again, this is straight out of the camera, no post work done. Enjoy.

You can download the Windows Media Classic Player(google it) for PC if you don't have an app that recognizes the files.

I haven't looked at all of them but the dock lillies and backpack guys stuff feels like very good Discovery HD.

Stunning. Quite filmic and detailed.

Thanks again, disjecta

Im seriously liking these images enough to think twice about an hvx purchase - my heart beats a little faster the more I see images from this cam - I am still excited about p2 & the various shutter speeds ( slo mo ) etc on the HVX but - damn ! I like the res & color from this cam.

D - please send me some links or info on why you went for this cam over the hvx - I've been away for awhile .

I saw some of your posts about JVC hd etc so - I know you must have down some major homework .

Im also now on the ledge - ready to jump into HD / V so any pointers would be greatly appreciated dude.

Look forward to your next big project fella!

The " bells_man" clip on your previous post is what gets me - the color & the detail - I haven't seen any hvx clips that match that ... yet.

And the" reeds_boat " clip - v nice indeed!

Disjecta,
I think your composition is really tight and beautiful, and I am considering this camera since I shoot long-form docs. What bothers me is that I see a great deal of aliasing, especially in the reds. It looks better on the original m2t files, but when I MPEGstreamclip them to DVCPROHD, it looks pretty pixelated. Have you noticed that problem as well? I can also see some interlace artifacts, especially in the DVCPROHD clips. I'm not sure, perhaps I am not encoding the clips correctly, do you have any suggestions?

Excellent question doccutter! Steven can you help us? I must say that regarding your own footage I don't feel the same but, for instance, concerning mgalvan recent footage posted I felt the same as doccutter. Why? Something wrong with the encoding?

Thx in advance for your helpful (for sure!) answer! I'm considering that purchase and I must to clarify this if possible.
