I know, just a rumor. But someone at dvinfo put up a scanned ad:

Maybe a fake, dunno.

If not... oooooohhhh, let me touch you little baby *drueldrueldruel*

Would probably be 1080i (<-EDIT: WRONG!) and a direct competitor to the Canon XL H1 - and, to some extend, to the HVX :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

And what difference does it make if we already own an HVX?

I like reading about this stuff.

That's the difference it makes to me.

We've all owned, I believe, more than one automobile, TV, etc.

I wanna know more. I was goning to buy the JVC but it had too many issues. If they've fixed them I'll add it to my stable. Keep up the spying, plus we HVX people need to know what else is out there...it'll help up know when to shout the loudest to Panasonic though we should be shouting at the top of our lungs because of the terrible viewfinders.

I'll check the NABSHOW.COM/press and JVC website every day to see if something new is coming up...

@Cut2Muz: Small world! Greetings to your wife, Don. Ask her for the crazy German who hired her to edit some texts about a period movie project :-) [which is running not too bad, btw]

The elaboration is that this was posted under "HVX News". It hardly qualifies as news about the HVX, so jeffyjones asked the question.

I have since moved it to the "Other Cameras->HD100" forum, where it's far more applicable.

Apparantly it is "just" 720p as the 100 is...

I understand. On the other hand this is supposingly an interesting piece of info for HVX users and all users considering the HVX.

This info will NOT be read in this thread by most forum users. Too bad! For them.

They mention this on this release:

"HZ-CA13U – specifically designed for the 1/3” bayonet mount of JVC ProHD camcorders which enables the use of 16mm film prime lenses with a PL (Positive Lock) mount to address the needs of the cinematography community. The GY-HD200 is also capable of inverting the image from a prime lens so that special editing functionality is not required for correct recording of the image."

I wonder if that's something similar to these 35mm adapters we have nowadays. I mean, it's for 16mm lenses only but it seems like the idea is the same, isn't it ?

Yeah it does sound like a 35mm adapter, but only for 16mm.

You would be suprised how the 720p out of the HD100 ups to 1080. You have to give JVC credit for getting a true 1280 x720p image with no pixel mojo. This really does pay off.

Well that's fine. I'd rather have a good 720p camera then a shoddy 1080 camera.

Interesting find. I wonder why they decided to stick with just 720p when all other HDV is 1080?

Because they realize that it doesn't mean anything in terms of real-world performance. None of the 4 current "baby" HD cams can resolve a measurable resolution in progressive mode that meets or exceeds 720p anyway.

Just a quick dumb question:

Is 720/60p going to have the "live" video look or a film-like look similar to 24p?

KZ

This part is intriguing:

Its 1/3-inch bayonet mount allows the use of various interchangeable lenses from Fujinon, Canon and other third party lenses and accessories.

Why does'nt everyone do this ? This lack of on other cams is my biggest gripe (DVX, HVX, Canon ....)
