Hey,
I still need to find information on doing greenscreen work with the XL2.
My search on google brought results suggesting recording from the Xls s-video, resulting in 4:2:2 video - can anyone confirm and explain this?
Also, earlier tests resulted in a visible information loss in the facial area after applying AEs Keylight, is this normal with keying?
I looked at the SM Ultra2 site and they seemed to have used the DVX for their demofootage, their resulting Key was absolutely OK for my needs - can I achieve this with the AE built in keying(= no extra expense for me...)
Last, I often read that editing DV in DV50 mode (or uncompressed...?) will yield better end results (for greenscreen and in general...), well, how is this done?
Is this "oversampling"?
I know there is this FCP Nattress plug-in, somehow restoring color information loss due to DV compression - is there an alternative for the PC?
BTW, I´m using Adobe all the way.
EDIT: In the "xl2 washed out colors" threat AshG points out the XL2 has a green tint, because green is the cleanest color in digital video - does this tint help or hinder keying?
Meaning: maybe the loss of information I noticed comes from the keyer also keying the green tint on my subjects face...?
AHHHHH, I need serious help here...!
