What to use on the lcd screen?

I shoot 16:9 matte constantly. But lately I may have to slightly rotate the image or make it jitter. I have to digitally enlarge the image losing detail. So i would like to shoot 4:3 and just place the matte on in post. But I have no idea what to use to tape off the lcd display to replace the 16:9 matte. (because I dont want to have to keep repositioning the framing in post) Should i use masking tape, electrical, something else? I am worried about ruining or just mucking up the lcd screen. I have no idea what to use, please help me out if you have any ideas. thanks.

GAffers tape..... it works wonders, and doesnt leave residue on the screen. aCtually it cleaned the finger prints off.

How abut using some translucent tape, get to see the audio levels? Draw a black line on the top of the tape to show the frame.

Another option is to buy a sheet of overhead translucent paper, the kind your math teacher uses to do problems on the old overhead projector, cut it to the size of your screen, measure out the crop of of your 16x9 image area, and draw the lines on the paper. Use this as an overlay on the screen. I have been using one for some time now, and it really makes a difference when framing.

i got one from evs thats a overlay with it printed and even has a cross hair in the center (good for glide cam) and was $3

Webdog,
Those are Screen Skins ($4.95 for a pack of 2).
Thanks, I kept the design simple with just that crosshair as a centering aid.
I also turn off my DVX100a info display when composing a shot...feels more like film cameras I'm used to and helps my concentration :).

Murdoc: Don't use tape on your screen. Tape residue=nasty removal problems.
Use a commercial overlay or make your own (what's your time and the material cost worth?).
Hope this helps.
