NAB 2006 What to See?

I am heading to NAB on Monday and Tuesday after many years of missing the show.

So the big question is what to see?

1. RED booth for the obvious reasons.
2. Apple, hoping to see a 17" Macbook Pro with more IO ports.
3. Panasonic, just to see if they are showing HVX footage on anything bigger than a 17" monitor.
4. Silicon Imaging to see how and if it compares to RED.
5. Edirol to see if they have a sub $5k HD switcher for studio work
6. Lighting Companies
7. Sony
8. Canon
9. JVC
10. The DVX User Group Event? Where is it? :)

So what am I missing? I am 99% Mac and shoot DVX100 and Canon gear. So please add to my list.

Thanks,

Rob

Grass Valley and the Infinity would be pretty high up my list. The Compact Flash recording gives it the advantages that P2 can (at lower cost), whilst the Rev Pro gets over the P2 problems by giving consumable media. I believe it's the one that is interesting a lot of sport, news etc stations who can't overcome the P2 workflow issues in a way that some other users may. The first working model is expected at NAB.

1. Avid Xpress Pro 6 with 720 25p support and full timewarp functionality
and secondary CC.

2. Canon XM3 (or GL3 for the US).

3. 16 GB P2 and pricedrops for the 8 and 4 GB Cards

NewTek, the people who make LightWave 3D, are going to be releasing a new Resolution Independent, Format Agnostic (QT, WM, AVI, etc..), NLE app called SpeedEDIT for $495.

They're claiming it'll handle SD & HD on the same timeline, 3 wheel color correction, HD preview & I/O over firewire, etc...

Should be worth a look.

Great,
I'll add all of the above to the list. But where is the DVX user get together? I know Barry Green mentioned it at the HVX boot camp.
