Macau (China) by night, shot with the HVX

i did not see such a thread, but now you have my attention and creeping towards the "search" button.

i swear there are days that i drop that disk in ONLY for the image, i can mute the whole thing and just watch the comp., lighting, and yes that glorious grain

And yes; grain rules. I recentl;y posted some stills from a few films and the cleanest of the bunch was the ONCE UPON A TIME grab from the Cinealta which looked 'Eh...'

The ones with actual grain visible looked beautiful.

Man, that was beautiful looking footage. There was a little bit of noise on some of the clips, but it was barely noticable. Man, the HVX is like the vx2100 of HD when it comes to low light.

That's some really nice footage, SPZ, nicely shot and nicely presented.

Anyone who sees this and thinks this is not AWESOME quality should go take up a second mortgage on their house, and spend that on a cam body....and maybe sell the car to get a cheap lens...

Thanks Guys! And the raw footage is a lot cleaner compared to the h264 file. Camera Settings?

Everything default in scene file 6, except for

Recording mode: 1080p 25

Master Ped -3

Detail Coring +3

The rest was default. This was using the 3.2k lighting preset.

Gain 0 (This camera is good in low light! Just don't use Gain!)

Gotta love the HVX!!

I also have some 50p slow motion converted to DV I would like to post... It's interesting stuff!

And yes, that is Macau!

EDIT- ooops, checked the cam.. It was master Ped -2 :)

SPZ...it seems that with Hvx200 you can achieve an imagery as korean movie 빈 집 Bin-jip (I was re-watching it) , with chinese actors...whoah...whoah...
Your low-light test shot with chinese girls just inspired myself!
I must find oriental people here in Naples soon! Oriental people are so expressive when they play a role, it's a inner nature of them!
Try to shoot a sample test video in day-light quoting this legendary scene, I'm pretty sure that Hvx200 can do that!
Ah...You're so lucky living in China...

Haven't seen that movie, Danilo... Anyway, I'm aiming for a Wong Kar Wai look with a personal touch... With this camera it is achievable, no doubt!

The movie 3-iron (Danilo's Film Grab) rocks, the guy is a genius...

I think these actors are actually Korean.

I just ordered it from netflix based on the comments in this post!

Hope it's good!

I loved the mood of the scene and camera work (panning). The colors looked really great.

I also really liked the soundtrack. Can I get the name of the song and artist?

Really beautiful stuff. And very evocative with the music. I second SamB -- what is that song? And, can I ask what your shutter speed was? 1/24?

Sorry, I've been out in a Business trip for a week... The band is Madredeus, from Portugal, and the disc is Madredeus Electronico (a remixes album)

I already answered this a couple of posts before, tough :)
