Here is a music video that was shot all in dvmode to match with a dvx except for the slow-mo stuff.

Let me know what you think.

Do not post this video any where else.
The band has yet to authorize the release to mtv2.

Cool :)

The colorgrading in the shots with the band very really good. You could create a similar (but of course different feel over the school shots). Like grading them green or yellowish. But how did you do the shake effects? And did you use a crane for the lavershots?

Again, very very cool shots with the band.

We shot dv to match with the dvx, because the editor takes each take and puts them in the same sequence and edits all 30layers at once. The next video is going to be in all 720p24pn.
We had a jib arm for most of the shoot and also a steadicam. the shake was a joes plug-in for fcp.

We didn't light at all for the classroom stuff, the warehouse scene was all lighting no in camera coloring. colorbalanced tungsten and used an ugly green gel for the key. You can notice the back light is white(tungsten).

Thanks for the input. I had trouble listening to the song 60 times that night, but the guys are down to earth and cool people regardless of the type of music they make. Also this is suppose to air on mtv2 at some point. They are a signed banned and have a following. We shot the whole thing dirt cheap, on favors.

This was hot kid. I like the movement. Would have liked to see some graphics. What the hell do I know about metal. Hottest bro.

i.....welll eerr...uummm yeah?! well? i dunno............okay
i ALMOST made it to the end, band shots looked cool, school stuff not so cool.........the music............well yeah

:kali:

oh my... did that young man say "... job well done"? I can't hear through all that dreadful yelling.

like the band stuff but the class stuff could almost stand to be graded a little bit and might be more interesting with some velocity envelope play.

"Oh, stewardess... I speak jive." CLICK PICTURE - HILARITY TO ENSUE...

ha! the red chord! awesome..... my now defunct band played a few shows with them last year, good work man

and yes that drumming is golden, people got to respect da blast beat

how is the qaulity of footage in dv mode? it is better than dvx? ok just saw it, I like the energy and the cutting. It could use some style.. with grading I think. Spice it up a lil bit

More style... ? Seems to have ample style. Does make ya pine away for some James Taylor after listening to that.

I can imagine how it would sound after listening to it 60 times.. wow. I attened a gruel concert years and years ago and realized that I'm now on the other side of the generation gap.. lol

That is some impressive and quite precussive drumming! Not pounding away at all. A film school dude has something similar.. or atleast a demo.. on his site of a guy drumming with some special peddle.
