Hi all,
My short film, The Red Bicycle, was accepted in the New York Bicycle Film Festival!
I am siked!
It feels good to have something that is very meaningful to myself be accepted by others.
Gets me pumped up to make another short...
Thanks to dvxuser for all the help over this last year.

Congratulations! That's great news! I really enjoyed the short and I hope that it gets some sort of honorable mention at LEAST in the festival. Good luck!

I think you should have a truck hit you unexpectedly when you are riding through the park. A trash truck picking up one of the large dumpsters or maybe an elderly man driving down a bike path :)

After going to that festival a few times and then watching your short, I knew you were a shoe in. You have a nice short. Congratulations!

And I will look for it when they have the festival here in San Francisco.

Thanks everybody....
Hey...maybe I will do an alternate ending where I get hit by a car or ride into a ditch.
Definately will catch people off guard...
Have fun.

At least? WHY?

If you wanna have the serious version, leave it the way it is but if you wanna have a surprise ending do the car ending and when you do the "in memory" credit you could also put your name in there(got the joke???). I..... don't know.......maybe it wont be funny.

there was a shot of the guy riding a bicycle in some sort of park, where there was a guy sitting on the bench. what shutter speed did you use for that effect that gave it an older choppy look?

i would also like to know what shutter speed oyu used and your in camera settings during your shoot?

Shot everything at 1/24 speed. Because I kind of like the blurred choppy look.
Sucks though when you are trying to export still shots because you can't get a clear on if there is movement. The old look was also due to the sun being low and casting a side light. Like the close up of me pedaling from the side.
The alternate ending would just be for the dvd for fun and abelex, your sense of humor is right on point with mine...love it. This is actually my first non comedic thing I have done. My other film is about a dog who just so happens to be able to play the saxophone and become a famous Jazz Musician....Jazz Dog.

Jazz Dog, I'm inspired by this short!
Thanks for showing it.
It'll be fun to see what all of us who were inspired come up with ourselves.
Influence will certainly show?
