good work man, good work chris . very happy to see ur video on mtv/ bet , and all done with the dvx great !!!!!, did u sue any lighting ,im think no ,or not much cause most of it was shot as exterior shots, and from what u said be for u edit on preimire i belive am i correct ?? and ofcourse i gotta ask man tell me did u do any CC ?? on the vide and what u do as far as CC?? , and use for CC ?? if u did any at all .

Awesome work, definitely sounds good and I can tell it looks really good, but the compression sucks(you tube). They have a tribe called quest style, dope!!!
 
Even though I can't stand rap, this video does look very well done, even despite all the compression. Looks like a 35mm adapter was used, or there was just a lot of artificial defocusing done. I can definetely see venietting and blur on the sides. Also, nice bullet-timish effect, when the guy on the skateboard jumps up and freezes.
 
thanx for all the comments they are much appreciated. i shot with the dvx100 we used a relector for lighting, some shots were filmed with the camera mounted to my bike with me pedaling and viewing the shots with a lcd monitor mounted to the handelbars

other shots we mounted the camera to the lead skaters body using a custom made brace that he wore under his wardrobe. another shot we mounted the camera to the skate board of the lead skater and let him push around the neighborhood with me running backwards to make sure the camera didnt hit the ground we did some stabilization in after effects as well as some cc and selective focus/vignetting and the freezes were photoshop and aftereffects. there is a begining intro which you will see on the full version of the video that has some lightwave rendered 3d tracked by hand composited into some handheld footage hopefully the label will let me post it soon.

I just saw the music video on BET like 10 minutes ago. It looks really sharp. I wouldn't have believed you used a DVX to shoot that.

MC or known as Rapper.

Knowledge

I guess what I was trying to explain is that over the years rap has branched off to a few different categories. What I should've said is that this isn't a Gangster Rap MV. If a MV has the elements in it from up above, then it's a Hip hop MV. If it has negativity, guns, money floating everywhere and girls with their tits out, then that would be categorized as a Gangster Rap MV. Sorry for the confusion, it really gets into detail.

I seen some pre-production photo's and was happy as hell when I seen the video on TV, the DVX holds up extremely well...........
 
Hot video, hot track. Congrats, man. Thank for sharing a bit of your technique on shooting this video. I don't think I'd have the guts to put my DVX on a skateboard, but if you're the next Hype Williams, you probably have a few checks coming in the mail ;)
