Can anybody post more PAL 50p footage

I seen some really nice 60p skateboard footage on this forum, but i would like to se stuff like that with 50p from the Pal version. I seen one skateboard post here with PAL 50p, but the skateboard got like alot of motionblur while the "same trick" in 60p looked sharp and nice. Would mean alot to me to get more stuff in 50p to help me figure out the differens the 10 frames makes!

Since this is my first post here, all thoe i been following this forum like everyday for like a year, i would like to thank everybody that have posted footage and qonvinced me this is a great camera.

On friday i go to an photo convent and watch PAL HVX-footage on a hd screens to se if the noise is a problem or not.

I just preordered an Pal HVX-200 and a Firestore disk and if i dont get disepointed at friday i will get it and start posting footage here aswell!!!
:dankk2:

It is not possible to post 50p pal footage at 720p but in sd no problemo.
I'm filming a reccy tomoz on my steadicam with the hvx, will downcovert some 50p to dv if i get any time.
From the short time i have had the hvx, i can say this camera is amazing.

Yes, the slight problem is getting the 720p footage into a NLE at the moment. When that's do-able you'll start to see footage.

I wounder when the apple update is coming, anybody got an educated guess ?
This is where pana and apple really let us down.
We don't want the update now if it's not finished.
We just want some indication of where apple are with this update. IE is it going to be this year or not.

I shot those two skateboarders on the banks of the Thames in London. Two reasons why the shot doesn't look great - it was converted to DV in the camera (the only way to get it into FCP), and I didn't set a very high shutter speed - probably 1/50th(!)

I'll try harder over the next few days...

I think Panasonic must give the Apple users the P2 viewer. It is hard to point at Apple ´that you can' t edit 720p 50 with that computer´ if Pana self brings out PC only software.

Oh, i thought I could use raylight with most NLE-programs. HcBeck you save my day cause it was exactly what i was wondering about. I will check the other footage you posted aswell! Thanks for all fast replys! This forum rocks!!!

Yes, you can use Raylight with Vegas, Premiere, After Effects, and
actually anything that plays AVI's. And it does work with 720-25P/50P
and 1080i50/25P/50P.

I'm getting 'white screen' with Raylight footage in Avid, or I might post some frame-grabs. Frame grabs always look awful exported from Avid for some reason though.

We haven't tested with Avid since it has it's own HVX200 capability. Same goes with Edius. But if there is widespread interest (I presume to get around the 720-25 problem) we could do that.

When you export always make sure you're in Raylight Blue, see bottom of page here

Thanks MVB. And yes Avid currently doesn't work with 720p/pn footage. All the rest work fine.

I saw a thread elsewhere where you stated that the macroblock structure was the same in 720p50 as 720p60. Would that make it possible to make lossless conversion between a 720p50 and 720p60?

Here'e something that I know works

Install Raylight http://dvfilm.com/raylight and make sure it's in Raylight Blue.

Convert your 720-25P MXF files to Raylight AVIs with RayMaker.

Then get DVFilm Maker 2.20d, install it and start it. See http://dvfilm.com/maker This is the current release version that we are selling.

In Maker, turn on the deinterlace option and then turn it off (so that no 24p conversion or deinterlacing is performed). In the Advanced options, select "Always Make Quicktime" and "User Selects Compression".

Drag the 720P-25 Raylight AVI's into the Maker batch processing window. Hit start and select the Avid DNxHD codec, Millions of colors, max quality, detail settings ITUR color, 1280 x 720 25P. The resulting Quicktimes should be importable into Avid HD without any further conversions.

Maker bombs out if it tries to open the Avid HD quicktimes with its built-in viewer, but the quicktimes are fine and you can
play them with the Quicktime Player.

Both RayMaker and DVFilm Maker can batch process so in theory you could process dozens of clips in one session.

Let me know if that works for you.

And by the way if you buy Raylight for this purpose we will give you a license for DVFilm Maker free.
