My First (Posted) Footage...

Just got some 55 watt and 85 watt (5500K) compact fluoros, and so now I have some light to play with.

I did some slight color correction, but just to cool the footage down a bit.

Think of this as a lighting test / homage to Poltergeist.

I liked that. I did not feel the color correction that you said you did, but the shot was very nice, I wanted to know more just like that guy acting.

nicely shot, light the lighting as well, but again, did not feel the CC, looked very natural. seemed like you played with the HLS but not with the RGB

Thanks for all the great comments! I probably won't add anything to this shot, but I am planning to shoot something spooky using my daughter (who works really cheaply). Perhaps her spirit gets sucked into an iPod?

Equipment:
DVX100 (original)
1 85-watt 5000K ComFlo (fill light)
1 55-watt 5000K Comflo (key light)
2 1-watt Luxeon LED flashlights (rim light)
Microphone Oktava MK012

Edited using FCP 5.0.4. Here is a screenshot demonstrating the raw footage vs. the color corrected footage.

Since it was just a lighting test that I kinda got into late (and I was the shooter, actor, and crew), there's nothing to this, apart from the musical homage to Poltergeist (hybridtheory knows). Amazing how really good music will make your footage seem better.

It doesn't look like much when it's all set up - mostly just some cheap reflectors. It is fun, however, to think on your feet as shooting conditions arise.

The peep-hole effect was simply me on the other side of the door with the 85-watt comflo.
