I just shot a 2 hour interview for a client. Went straight to a Powerbook via Robert Lane's setup...which worked like a charm.
Now the client wants a DVD with Timecode to make selects for the edit.
From what I can tell, my G5 iMac will take 40 Hours to do this...is that right?!?
10 Hours to Render the Timecode in Final Cut, and 30 Hours to export through Compressor to an MPEG-2.
Am I crazy? Is there any other way to do this? Maybe out from Final Cut to DV tape then back into Final Cut and then to MPEG-2? This was all so much easier with good old DV...guess you have to break an omlette to make a few eggs.
The client wants it soon - Any body have ideas on this?
