I too am curious about the Mack warranties. I notice that many grey-market cameras with Panasonic Japan warranties come with Mack extended warranties. From reading the Mack website, however, it seems that their extended warranties only start after your regular warranty ends. That would mean that if something goes wrong during the first year, you actually have to wait until the year is up before getting your unit fixed (or send it to Japan...). This seems a bit pointless to me.

Ordered mine through EVS, and get it tomorrow. I added the Mack warranty that they recommended... $250. He said I was covered for 5 years, and the warranty was transferrable. I even get a free head cleaning every year! 
True, but really a joke with this camera since the "moving parts" won't be moving that often.
Basically, I think we all trust EVS -- and they said it was a good deal & worth the expense.
