Transfer files?

Transfer files?

Yep.....that's the way it was for me too, so I just created a new account. You can't access your old stuff anyway.

Marlene
I see your new account Marlene, can I transfer some files for you?

Well.......that's very nice of you to ask but I'm sure you're quite busy right now and I doubt that any of those are that important, and if anything is I can find it on my computer and upload to the new account.

Thanks again for asking!

We always have time for customers. That's what we do. Say the word and it will be done.

BTW......you have a great site and now that I'm done being mad :) (sorry bout that) I can see that it's a really nice improvement.

I haven't had the courage yet to hang my DVX00b on the side of my car yet, but I have used my JVC and it's awesome. I have used the DVX on the inside passenger window facing the driver. I have complete confidence in it staying secure......it's the bugs and road gravel that concerns me.

I'm going to save up and buy a used DVX100 that I can dedicate just to stickypod work.

Thanks again!

I know that tempers flare, no worries. In regards to the road gravel and bugs, I have never had a piece of gravel hit my lens cover (I always use a lens cover). I have had a bug or 2 hit it, but no damage. I find using it on boats is the most hazardous.

I like the idea of a used DVX100B. The B version has the metal mounting socket and that's what you need. I don't understand why any of these manufacturers use plastic, I'm sure it's all about profits. Imagine if we built the Sticky Pod out of plastic, no one would buy it. Even I wouldn't use it! I'm going to buy a DVX100B for now because I want to wait a little while before jumping into the HVX-200 (btw, it does have the metal socket), just to give them time to work out any bugs.

Try using a Bogen 577 with your DVX to provide more stability. Remember, you can use your tethers to secure your camera and alleviate some or all of the weight off the Sticky Pod base. I have both the Manfrotto 501 and the Bogen 577 and the quick release plates are interchangeable. It's a very slick setup.

Thanks for the :love4:
See you soon.

Thanks for the heads up on the DVX100......I wasn't aware that they used a plastic mounting socket. I'll be looking for a used B then.

stickypod - again, thanks for the hosting. It's wonderful. However, I do have a slight problem. I know you are busy, so don't worry about it if you don't have time.
the last video i uploaded seemed to have the sides cut off and it only plays about 12 seconds of it or so before restarting. Also, the controls nor the timeline can be viewed. I've doubled checked the dimensions on my file. Any suggestions?

thanks!

Possibly an MP4

Possibly an MP4

Is it an MP4 file? Some file formats, not many, currently cannot be embedded (viewed) on the web page. That's a limitation of QuickTime and Windows Media. All others, should be viewable. It can depend on how you compile the video. For example, you can compile your video in QuickTime to include the time slider at the bottom. Our site is setup so the slider shows for all videos except those that specifically compile their videos without the slider.

You should also make sure the entire video uploaded. You want to stay on the upload page until you get the upload success screen.

Your video size needs to be at least 320X256. Anything larger will be resized, but the original file size can be downloaded and viewed on a local computer. The max file size is 100M.

BTW, I'm never too busy to help out. This day and age, any business owner has a few minutes to lend a hand or provide some advice. That's what is so great about the internet.

i fixed the problem. Exporting the video to the Broadband High setting in Quicktime doesn't fit on the stickypod website. Medium works fine.

I cant seem to upload images to stickypod at the moment any reasons as to why

Cheers Nick.

Keep getting this

"/usr/local/bin/mogrify" +profile "*" -size 100x49 -quality 70 -geometry 100x49 '/home/theibel/public_html/videos/data/500/thumbs/itunes_button1.jpg'

Minimum File Size 20X20

I think that's the program trying to create the thumbnail. The minimum size is 20 pixels after it creates the thumbnail. Try adding a little height to your image. If that doesn't work, please let me know.

Sticky Pod Video Gallery Do's and Don'ts

Sticky Pod Video Gallery Do's and Don'ts

Just FYI for you MySpace, Bebo, MSN, Yahoo and all other community boards. The Sticky Pod video gallery is for DVXuser.com and it's members. That means that you can use our servers to post massive videos and pictures, but they are NOT to be shared on the type of sites mentioned above. The video gallery is meant to foster creativity and provide a place to show off your work to your fellow DVXuser enthusiasts. Using the Sticky Pod video gallery to help sell music albums, indie films or other projects thru videos and pictures spread across high volume networks, is a commercial endeavor that should be handled thru your own personal website (using your money). I know that this has a considerable cost associated with it, but that's the cost of doing business. If you wish to use our servers to help you sell an indie film, music video, or other project, please let us know so we can enter into a business agreement that will compensate both parties. We're fine with helping you sell your work, we spend a considerable amount of money per month promoting our product and that brings us a huge volume of visitors to our site. So the Sticky Pod website would be a good place to post your work for sale.

To summarize, if you want to post video to the Sticky Pod website for the DVXuser forum, that's great, we welcome your posts.

If you're a member of the DVXuser forum and you want to post videos to the Sticky Pod website for your own personal website, that's fine too.

If you want to post videos to the Sticky Pod website so you can link it to MySpace, MSN, Yahoo, Bebo or any other community forum, that's not OK. Your videos will be replaced or removed.

We must do this to keep costs down and to provide your fellow DVXuser members with enough bandwidth so that everyone has a chance to see their work.

Many thanks for your continued support. Please be mindful of your fellow DVXuser members and their will be plenty of bandwidth and storage space for everyone :)

I just tried it and it works. Here's some basics,

you must be logged in - non members can only view images
does the image fit the allowable image profile (look on the left side of screen under the box titled "User File Limits"
here are all the allowable file types: jpg,jpeg,png,gif,tif,tiff,bmp,eps,mpeg,mpg,avi,asf,wmv,mov,swf,flv,m4v,mp4,moov,movie,fla,mp2,mpe,mpa,wma,asf,aif,aiff,aifc
have you uploaded more than your daily limit? Look in the same area.
is your image larger than 100MBs?

I did some testing and I discovered the problem. It was a file permission for a specific folder that was incorrectly set. It should all be good now.
