I'm crackin' up over here.

yah so Christine is an aquaintance of mine and was in the area, so I rang her up and said "holla" -- thought if anyone needed a pretty face for their hero-fest movies or a damsel in distress, whatever, she'd be good and works for salad and diet coke. you know model types!

tie her up and put her on the Long Island Railroad tracks. hero can rescue her. just like in the silent movies. LOL

I'm still buzzing from the meeting and the after event. I woulda stayed even longer but Christine and I had to get back to my place to work on a project.

don't even go there.

Darn I knew I should have got her "Cresume" :). Now all i have to figure out is how to get her to come down to Baltimore:grin:

Not that it matters but I thought B&H was run by Hascidic Jews?

All I know is that store is one organized place. Any store that has conveyor belts shuffling your items to each station is BadAss

Who knew Santa's workshop was run by Hascidic Jews? But it definitely has that kid in a candy store feel.

That's true, but the best thing about B&H is that the salespeople know the gear they are selling.

In most ordinary stores I will know SO much more than the sales people -- but at B&H I ask for and get great advice. I've also NEVER been "oversold" anything.

Very cool of B&H to host the meeting. I went back today and dropped another bunch-o-money on a Lowel DV Core 500 light kit and a Sennheiser G2 wireless lav kit.

Gonna jump in the deep end on Thursday with my first pro shoot -- wish me luck!

Yup... well I went to sleep and when I woke up she was a different person entirely. :crybaby:

Thankfully it only happens 6 days a month. :Drogar-BigGrin(DBG)

When it happens, I call her my pod person. She was wayyyyyy cranky yesterday. She was going to come in with me, but.....:badputer:

It really is refreshing to go into a store and have people that actually know what the heck they are talking about and selling. Last time I went to buy a printer somewhere it was painfully obvious I knew a lot more than the salesperson that asked me if I had a question...

When I managed software sales I made sure each of my employess played EVERY new game that came in and was familiar with both Mac and PC titles and problems that could happen, piracy, etc. I guess I must be crazy to expect that other places would do the same...

That Man-Hole movie was HYSTERICAL... "remember your training" I mean, what was even funnier was the reaction from David, the poor B&H guy. Of course the "brethren", as he called 'em, woulda freaked out if they would have seen that! (for those of you in the dark, B&H is run by orthodox Jews in full regalia. they have all Websites blocked (except camera manufacturers, etc.) I'm told, and the store's odd hours and holidays correspond to the Jewish holiday. it's a religious thang).

But I really dug the film. the cameo was priceless, Mark, priceless! Robert Smigel has nothing on you.

Yea FlintMI.... I remember years ago, the first time I went or wanted to go to B&H and it was a Friday afternoon. Their catalog had the hours and it said closed 1 PM Fridays and all day Saturdays..... I was like, what tha @$#%........
After a few minutes I figured it out..... had to laugh at myself.......

Great store....... I almost felt like JDanStan's Zombie wandering the ailes after the meeting.......

Hey.........What an idea! Someone quick... get a treatment together ......... Zombiefest at B&H........ Zombies staggering down the ailes..."CURLS........CURLS.... I NEED CURLS"

Thanks man, I'm really happy you liked it. It's a fine line between "LOL" and "WTF?"

To me the funniest thing was Jay (coffee) sitting next to me and he just started yelling out: "Is that a SAUSAGE? Is that a SAUSAGE?"

Just a quick shout-out to everyone who came to the NYC meeting on Sunday. It was a great meeting -- awesome to see everyone's work and it was really cool to finally put 3D faces and bodies with all the local users. Sorry for the delayed post, but I've been buried in a deadline ever since I got home...

BTW, if you haven't already, ya'll have to check out Desperate Comfort's short film series. It's hilarious! (He showed one of them at the meeting.)

Thanks to FlintMI for his concise summary of the proceedings. I just wanted to clarify that UrbanMouse Productions/Puffin Films is available if any of you need production support, including a Producer (that would be moi), DP work (that would be Aram), fX/Compositing/3D/Animation (ditto, Aram) or editing (we usually collaborate).

Also, if any of you know anyone in the children's programming niche (television), please let us know. We have both a 10-minute promo and a full-length pilot ready to show interested parties...

Yikes, sorry -- didn't mean for this to be a "networking" post; I just wasn't sure if we got our story across in the meeting...

Looking forward to the next meeting; big thanks to Roman, HybridCreations and FlintMI for coordinating everything.
