New York City DVX user meeting

Great meeting, everybody was cool and special thanks to Roman, Flint and Hybrid for putting this thing together, that room had so much talent, I see good things in the future, can't wait for the next meeting.

Silverwolf.. I'm still left with WOW!!! you came all the way from Maryland, damn, if that's not heart and dedication I don't know what is, hopefully you can find someone in Maryland to drive down with or even better maybe start your own DVXmeeting in Maryland, good luck.

Yeah it was a great meeting. It was cool to sit there and others work and it was definitly cool to be able to sit there while others viewed my work. When my piece went up I got a hot flash and got all nervous but afterwards I was like hell yeah, i like this!!! I cant wait to be able to screen work in the new screening room there. I think its a great resource and hats off to everyone who made it possible.

Where did that model girl come from? It was like she came out of the blue all of a sudden.

Which part, the screening or model? The screenings were after everyone intruduced and the model appeared at the Sally restaurant.

Oh well no I didn't miss that part. I can't remember the name of the gutthat was sitting next to her because she was with him.Darn i wish I made the introduction portion of the meeting. Her name was christin If I'm not mistaken

Yeah, Christine was her name.

FlintMI, come clean.

Did you invite her like: "Hey baby, you wanna be in pictures? I can make you a star!" :)

Gutthat? took me a good minute and a google of mostly German websites before I realized you meant 'guy that' Maybe that will be the next pw3nd. You don't want to know how long it was before I found out that was for the text message crowd who misspelled owned. Damn man that is some dedication coming from Maryland.

It was really cool to meet you all. I'm down for the next meeting. This one went really well. It was a great crowd and everyone was into it. Except for the B&H guy who freaked a little when Man-Hole played. Thanks to the organizers for getting all us virtual people into the real world.

Guys,
First off, GREAT meeting. The turnout (both in numbers and in talent) was unbelievable! Thank you all for coming. It is all of you who will make this group great as we go forward. I was so amazed at all the feedback people got for their stuff during the viewings! You can't really get that kind of close human interaction from the web site and that's why these meetings will be so important. I know we didn't get to do the tour, but we had too many people!

Secondly, it's so cool knowing what all you guys look like now! I just wanted to say everyone that I got a chance to talk to was so nice and I had a lotta fun just shooting the **** with you guys.

We'll be posting a date for the second meeting soon so keep your eyes peeled here. Can't wait to see everybody again.

Darn, Sounds like I missed some interesting happenings at Mustang Sally's.

My wife and I were 'knackered' and ended up heading home after checking out Camera's at B&H.

Grabbed a bite on the Jersey Side and caught the Sopranos...

It sounds like the meeting was awesome!

I'm really bummed I wasn't able to be there. I hope they continue and I can come in the future.

LOL sorry about that I didn't notice I type that. It was a better drive back then
going up. I'm really trying to do well with filmmaking.

Hey Silverwolf,
Thanks for comin' up man. You definitely showed your determination to a bunch of NYC folks. I know it's a long drive for ya but I hope you can come to more.

I'm definitely going to try and make the next one and I'll try and get some marylanders to come up with me. I think this time I'll leave a little earlier so I can get there on time just incase I get hit with traffic again

someone just asled me about finding the enexpsnsive sound effects library I recommended -- its really hard to find, I think selling it is a small sideline for someone who works at the company.

Mustang Sally's

Mustang Sally's

I'm crackin' up over here.

yah so Christine is an aquaintance of mine and was in the area, so I rang her up and said "holla" -- thought if anyone needed a pretty face for their hero-fest movies or a damsel in distress, whatever, she'd be good and works for salad and diet coke. you know model types!

tie her up and put her on the Long Island Railroad tracks. hero can rescue her. just like in the silent movies. LOL

I'm still buzzing from the meeting and the after event. I woulda stayed even longer but Christine and I had to get back to my place to work on a project.

don't even go there.

That Man-Hole movie was HYSTERICAL... "remember your training" I mean, what was even funnier was the reaction from David, the poor B&H guy. Of course the "brethren", as he called 'em, woulda freaked out if they would have seen that! (for those of you in the dark, B&H is run by orthodox Jews in full regalia. they have all Websites blocked (except camera manufacturers, etc.) I'm told, and the store's odd hours and holidays correspond to the Jewish holiday. it's a religious thang).

But I really dug the film. the cameo was priceless, Mark, priceless! Robert Smigel has nothing on you.
