My first test footage (with some fun color correction!)

Check this out. After all the problems I've had thanks to you guys I finally got it going.
I managed to shoot a little bit in the kitchen with the family and figure'd I'd give it a test shot.

Near the end you'll see the shot with my father again, but I went in and changed the colour of his jacket to appear a little bit nicer. Sadly it affected his lips and ears, but we won't tell anyone.

Here's a quick second one I took with my dog. Detail is +1, Core is +3.

I even open my shower DOORS from the left.

Now, lemme take another look at that jacket, lips and ears.

:)

I don't know if its me or what...... but i didn't notice any difference in the lips and ears.

Your dad was a riot! LMAO.  You need to create a short around him...if he's game, that is.

Mostly right at the end, when he looks at the camera. Thats where I see it.

LOL. Maybe I'll try and do something with my dad. See what's going on.

Now, if I want less stuttering when I move left and right, I read I need to pan slower.
What if i shoot in 60i, will I still get that?
Or should I just drop my shutter speed as low as possible so fast left and right movements are more blurred instead of choppy? I mean if I'm following someone around documentary style and not just setting up cinematic shots.

hah, your dads the best.

Yeah, I noticed the lip and the ear, its some orange tint of some kind.

cool footage though.

I suggest just panning slower. This is the result of 24p. you wont get it in 60i. slowing the shutter speed will give you a blur to decrease the noticabilty (word?) of the stagger. But i just suggest reading Barrys book and watching the DVD.

And i can see it now...."This is not your average teenage rebel...He's got a one way ticket to freedom but must pass through hell...he lives by his own rules...HE OPENS THE SHOWER DOORS FROM THE RIGHT! watch out america, here comes MatthewC"

LMAO. You almost made me cry from laughing so hard.

Yeah, that's exactly what I was thinking about the panning. That was what I read in Barrys book, and I figure'd I'd ask here for confirmation on it and see if I remembered it correctly. It helps me remember things if I double check it with people. So your answer means that yes, I am actually learning something. Awesome. :-)

ur pop the man matt very funny need whole short on him he is ur talent right there, and yes i 2nd the panning slower matt and i dont think u used any CC on it just fresh out the camera am i correct on that ???? and barrys book is great isnt
