If not, maybe we can make one.

Fixed now. Thanks for noticing.

The twitter for MARIANNE is spelled with w instead of v, it's a change I made last week or so because I got the papers from the business registration office, and according to them I have to spell the company Jawa Ex Machina.

The La Casa Muda link is fixed too.

Anyone know any other DSLR features?
 
just want to add...

i've noticed that a lot of short films/music videos shot with DSLRs are coming out of Eastern Europe...

i wouldn't be surprised if there are already a few features in post or distributed (shot on DSLRs, out of Eastern Europe)
 
Good idea, I am subscribing to this thread for sure. I wish we could answer the question, "Where can we SEE the features shot with the HD-DSLRs?"... Besides SXSW, that is.
 
You forgot Tiny Furniture. It won SXSW. Shot with a 7D

There's also the season finally of House shot completely on 3 5DIIs

Also there is the Warner Brothers "The only easy day was yesterday" coming in the fall shot by ASC Shane Hurlbut. 85% shot on the 5DII.

Dario, I've read some about Desperata on Filmcafé, but I didn't know it was shot on a DSLR.

How was the D90 to shoot with? I stayed away from it because of the lower resolution.

I just finished shooting a feature film called "The Night" on the 7D and we also used a T2i as a B-camera/2nd unit. I'll post the trailer for the film when its online which should be another month or so.
 
"Janelle" is a student feature being shot on GH1 and 5D mk II, with a tiny smidgen of EX1. Principal photography is done this week and the thing is already half edited. Should be out in late may/early june. I don't think the EX1 stuff disqualifies it...it's literally like 1 tiny little scene of a guy running through the woods that I wanted a better codec than the Canon or GH1 could provide.

Miracle Man (tentative title) - Indie Comedy - Mockumentary about Chi-Gong Healer.
Completed Principal Photography January 2010. Canon 7D. Sigma 17-50, Zeiss Primes.

I shot these three features on Canon HDSLRS.
The first one is Mentioned in Indie Slate Magazine.

You're right, I think I didn't mention on filmcafé that I used a DSLR. Though I have mentioned it here in the D90 forum, and now recently in the thread below where I write some details about the experience, you can have a look:

In short, the lack of manual controls was of course not quite ideal, but anyhow it was possible to work around. And regarding the resolution, I choose to down-res and finish on DVD. Though I screened the 720p version in a local cinema, and it looked quite nice, but the SD version "hides" some of the camera's flaws.

Hi, Sorry noob on posting films. I have been writing and prepping a feature since Feb. 2008, have shot some scenes, still going strong, it's called 'Year of the Boomerang' for now, which is the name I've been using this year. I realize I may not be able to use this name as it's a Rage against the machine song, but hey, for this year, it's catching with my guys, plus I have the name of the film in head for now.

The questions I have are,

I finished the film, I cut a trailer. I put the trailer online. Where online can I put a trailer that is not compromising rights, I read a thread last year that said if u post to vimeo/youtube the rights go to them or something? The question is worded very badly as i really have no clue.

My plans for this film are shoot it, light it well and act it well, and watch it. For now. I have no festival plans or distribution plans. Distributions plans are not realistic for me, this is my first. Festivals are very realistic, because of previous work I've submitted. This is why I'm worried about posting the trailer. Does a trailer matter even? is it part of the movie? The reason I don't care about festivals now is cause it's got to us before I don't want it to again. It's the same crew, we're on the same page on this, but as soon as we're done, we can reward ourselves with considering the publicity. We just wanna make it well, first.

My dilemma is this. If it turns out decent, I do wanna shop it around, but I would love for people to watch it. Here, this is easy. The forty ppl I know and want to see this are invited over for drinks in front of a screen.

But I really really want to show it on dvx. Is there anywhere one can post a movie?

I feel really naive asking that above I can feel that the answer's gonna be, you either burn it or you don't.

As for this thread, I don't have an official website for the film, we're just putting up our website. I'm afraid here it's just a title, a blog, and out site, is that enough to count? We're not in the US, we're in lebanon, I'm still figuring out how to play into the movie scene.

I hope this isn't too silly a question. Self conscious today.
 
Oh, of course we shot the first bit with a d90, now we have a gh1/7d setup going on using that. both cutting well.

The d90 is a hassle to shoot with, but still fun, still nifty, I got good images out of it. I do miss it.

If the d90 just had a shutter speed readout and just told me what it was doing by the numbers I'd be happy with it. Just to see where you lock at least.

I liked my d90.
