I came across an old post today doing some research on lights. I think it was 06 post but was wondering and wanted to ask hvx users if anyone has tested/tried/owns the Z90 or Z50 LED light offered by ZYLIGHT?

I would love to see screen shots of the lights in work.

thanks in advance for your posts!

I haven't owned or used them, but they look pretty nice.

Still, Vidleds are much cheaper, if you don't mind working with gels.

gels are gret but the fact that you dont have to worry about them at all is pretty nice. thanks for the post Twisted.. Anyone else have a run with this product?

I own two of the newer units (replaced a pair of litepanels). Excellent lights. Very bright and the colors adjustments are fantastic. I also like that they can switch from tungsten to dalyignt in a flash (my old litepanels were only tungesten).

The only thing I really miss about the litepanels is that the battery attached directly to the light (less cables). However, the Zylights are far brighter and more flexible so I can deal with an extra cable coming off the camera. I haven't been able to extensivly use them so I'm not sure how long my batteries will last, so I'll know more in a few months when business picks up again (I am going to use them for certain shots in a film I doing now). My first impressions were very positive.

I too own a Zylight Z50. I only own an AC power solution however so no experience with batteries. Nonetheless, I think they're great for how small they are and the "wireless technology."

With Zylights, you can change the settings on one light and have such changes reflected on an array of other Zylights. I think that's pretty cool!
